READ THE DIRECTIONS PEOPLE!
I love reading negative reviews from people who can't read. Read the directions. Read them again. Read them ONE MORE TIME, and then watch the installation video on YouTube. Think you are ready to go? Read the directions and watch the video again. I actually had the video pulled up as a reference while I was installing. It's not simple but it doesn't take an engineer either. Once installed it is a very nice 'door'. The magnet is super strong and holds it nicely. I have already recommended to a friend and would order again.

Don't buy.
Not easy to install - at all.The screen does not easily slide back and forth and we used a level so I know it is exact. There are areas around our door frame where it doesn't sit exactly flush so I am concern Mosquito’s could get in our home. I wouldn't purchase this again.

This seems like a well constructed screen
This seems like a well constructed screen, but because it is only 80" tall, the installation is more complicated that it had to be. A standard door is 80". The upper and lower tracks take up about 1 1/2 inches into the opening, so either you have to create a filler at the top to lower the head clearance, or raise the jam. An extra 2 inches in height would make this much easier to install on the surface of the jam and not force you to shrink the size of the door opening. And it's not designed to fit inside the jam where it's height would make more sense.

Install requires some improvizing, but otherwise it's great
My wife and I looked into retractable screen doors at our local Lowes, and they only had two options: a super cheap, accordion-style door, or a nicer roller-style door (like this one), but you were required to pay for installation by the manufacturer (and extra $250). So we thought, "Let's see if you can get just the door sans the installation from Amazon." Sure enough, we found this door, which is essentially the same thing.Installation seems to be the big contention point of this door, so let me add my two cents. It's not a hard install, but you should read through the directions at least twice before you start. Try to work out each step in you mind or on paper before you start cutting stuff. Measure three or four times. The directions are spares and written for lab conditions. Your door is not in a lab. It is most likely not ideal (i.e. not square or not entirely flush) and will require some improvising. For example, our door has an extended bottom sill the slopes down at a shallow angle, and I had to fit a piece of 5/8" door trim under the sill plate in order to fill a gap, and I had to buy 6 longer screws in order to then secure the sill plate down. But I took the time to identify these issues before I started cutting and installing, and by having everything in place and thought through, the actual install process was a breeze. BTW, I'm not a carpenter, mechanic, engineer, or anything like that. I'm an English major who works at a library, so please don't think I do stuff like this every day. But I'm confident that with a little patience and some thoughtful problem-solving you can figure out how to get this screen door onto your door, and once you do you'll be super pleased. We love ours. One thing that really struck me was the strength of the magnet that holds the door in place when it is pulled out. That magnet is super strong. For that part ODL gets an A+.

this screen door was an easy install. It functions well
If you pay attention to the instructions which are clear, this screen door was an easy install. It functions well, looks good and for the northeast it's a great alternative to the traditional full-view swing screen doors! I would certainly recommend this retractable door! I would also recommend you attempt to install this only if you are familiar with working with tools. If not, hire someone! The door is worth it!

Install Can Be Tough But Unique Product Is Worth It
I have mixed feelings about the screen. It was fairly hard to install. If your door is already just right then the install could be simple. For a lot of doors, including ours, some extra work is required to get the door frame ready for the screen. We had to build out the door frame for it to fit properly. The housing and the sliding portion are of adequate quality. Not great but good enough. It is a little hard for my 6 year old to operate. All of that said - there is no replacement for this screen. It rolls up and is very compact. My wife didn't want a sliding screen to cover the adjacent window all of the time. This was the only solution so we can keep the door open without compromising how it looks normally. So, I would buy it again but at the same time I wish it was better.
