Darkest Night, by designer Jeremy Lennert, is a fully-cooperative board game set in a kingdom broken under a Necromancer’s shadow. Each player takes on the role of one of the kingdom’s last heroes, each with a unique set of special abilities, just as they hatch a plan to save the realm. Can you save the kingdom from darkness? Do you have the courage, the cunning and the will to withstand the necromancer and his forces? Strategize, plan and bring out the best of your abilities to end our Darkest Night!

10/10 will play again!
A really fun albeit simple roll and play game. The strategy is pandemic-Esque but I like the magic theme better. All components are quality components, and I look forward to playing this throughout the years. It can be great as a solo game or as a 4 player game (though many would disagree) I will qualify as say as a 4 player game the players do need to know what they’re doing this downtime will be short quick and sweet, I can see how this would be long if people do not know how to play or who suffer from severe analysis paralysis

Expected more for a game in this price range
Darkest Night is an enjoyable (albeit quite complex) game with a great theme but it the materials inside the box just don't justify the price point. Definitely watch some game-play footage to be sure this is the board game you want to sink your hard earned funds into as you could definitely do better.

Would rate more than 5 stars if I could
Where do I even begin? The more I play this game the more I come to appreciate how much love was put into making it. It is absolutely dripping with theme and and with all the events, quests, artifacts, everything just works so well together. The atmosphere is dark and desperate and there are a host of heroes to try and overcome the hordes of darkness with. The art is absolutely gorgeous -no cartoonishness here, it's somber yet appealing.I'm primarily a solo player with most games and Darkest Night is my go-to to scratch that itch. Be forewarned that this may take you a few goes before you actually have an idea what you're doing (I referenced the rule book and watched youtube videos). There are so many "if this then that"s at various stages and it can be confusing when you start playing. Despite this once you get it it's a heck of a ride and so much fun. If the theme appeals to you and especially if you like playing solitaire you can't go wrong with Darkest Night. Huge kudos to the creators and artists of this game: you all did such a fantastic job.
