A far nicer set than I had expected. This is a very handy duo for any fisherman, but if you're heaing out for tuna, or marlin I'm going to say this is not the best choice.However, for those of us who love freshwater fishing, or light saltwater, this set is the bomb. The fish gripper ("lipper" is larger than many, and will handle panfish all the way to larger freshwater & some saltwater species. It allows you to handle the fish without harming them, or their delicate slime coat (protects them from disease & parasites). There is a good quality nylon wrist cord, which is very adjustable.The scale is great. It's small enough to fit easily into a pocket, vest, or even your tacklebox. It's sports a very bright LCD display, which is digital and easy to read. It's highly functional, and it's far better than my ancient mechanical/spring scale.There is a hook at the base to hang the fish. It has several functions, including Tare weight. You can choose the type of units you want the display to show (lbs., etc.).Comes with a nice instruction booklet, and batteries are included.It's a great little set, and very versatile. I'm going to say this will be a new companion when I head out to fish. An excellent deal.

I selected this fish measuring tool for my son because he is an advocate fisherman and I felt that this was an innovative tool for him to use during his fishing trips. What I liked most about this measuring tool was all of the features that are packed into one compact unit. I like that the scale has a digital display and the units of measurement can be changed with the push of a button. I also like the hidden measuring tape built into the side of the scale that allows for measurement of the length of the fish. The metal handle and weight hook add a great value and shows durability and quality with this tool. My son has since used this tool for a recent fishing trip and has reported great reliability and accuracy with the function of this device. I have been very pleased with the outcome.

Using my husband's work-out ankle weights, I was able to test Dr. meter's accuracy. It passed with flying colors! The weights delivered by this device were right on target. I also appreciate the bright blue back lighting on the screen making it easy to read the display. I can't wait to catch my first fish which merits using this device. When I think about how much I love fishing, it's been a long winter. I usually do fresh water fishing and often land walleye, northern pike, and muskies. They all have very sharp teeth! I've never owned a gripper before (and I have the scars to prove it!). Having this gripper at the ready will certainly save some skin and a bunch of bandages. My only complaint would be that the tape measure only goes to 40 inches. There are some northern lakes which require muskies to be 50 inches to be considered "legal." Those rare occasions are not enough to deduct any stars from these fishing accessories. 5 stars.

I got this in case we ever catch a fish. I take my grandsons fishing and so far, they have had no luck. So when they finally catch one, they can have fun weighing it. It is easy to use and has a nice sized hook to catch onto the fish's mouth. I tried a 5 lb bag of flout and it was off by 5 ounces. Not a big deal, unless you have a weight limit and need to be accurate. The extra tool is nice and woks easily to grab onto a fish. Perfect for when the kids want to take a photo with their catch. Overall it is a nice tool and well made.

This Dr.meter PS01 Fishing Scale with Fish Lip Gripper is well built and easy to use. The scale itself is easy to use. They integrated a small area where you can clip the hook so it doesn't get tangled amongst many other things in the boat/tackle box. The buttons/controls are intuitive and leave no room for guessing how this is used. The LCD backlit screen is a nice touch for those early morning trips.While I have yet to try it on a fish the lip grabber works great on small items around the house. As long as you are able to get the lip somewhat hooked on the lip grabber hooks it should work perfectly fine.It does come with an integrated tape measure that honestly feels a bit chinsy and I probably would have preferred if they left it off but its there so I'll take it. Most likely I will not use the tape measure.

I've had a few cheaper models over the years that never seemed to work (or continue to work) well and I have used other Dr.Meter products in the past and never had problems with them.The fish gripper is better than average and you won't struggle with your hold on the fish (particularly more useful if you're saltwater fishing where everything has a thousand teeth and wants to eat you). The little hook on the bottom of the scale slides into a holder on the back of the unit so it's not dangling in your tacklebox and getting stuck on everything but the best part about the scale is the fact that after 3 seconds or so it "locks" in the weight of the fish. You know, if the 100 pound fish does manage to kick itself off you in panic, you'll still see the last record weight.

I am a bad judge of weight when it comes to fish. I always wanted to know how much my fish weigh when I catch them. This scale has a digital screen, which is easy to read. It lights up, making it easy to read in low light conditions as well. The fish grabber is ok. I have never had issues grabbing fish, but this may come in handy grabbing fish with lots of teeth and will help keep my fingers out of the way. Overall, I am pleased with this product.
