Love the strap, but came apart in 2 weeks using only 4 times :(
Pros: This strap has given me relief and a noticeable difference in decreased pain. Even support going up stairs, which is difficult with knee tendonitis. I do pilates reformer and walk super fast, so I need this support. You can adjust and tighten the straps to fit properly. It has a double strap and it does not slide or come off when exercising or walking. On the inside of the strap, there is a roll / pillow full of tiny beads that molds and presses against the front tendon below the knee. Works great, but you cannot kneel with the brace on.Cons: Both straps came apart with use a handful of times after 2 weeks. The stitching is not very secure. It has single loose stitching. That is why I gave it 3 stars, otherwise I would have given it 4 or 5.Recommendation to Imak manufacturer: You have a great product, so don't have it fall apart. Use more secure stitching of the straps.Amazon has allowed me to return for a full refund as "a defective item", which it is, as I read on Amazon.com reviews only one other person to have had the same problem :( ; however, I will need to reorder as they cannot send a replacement, only take orders, fulfill orders and accept returns.I plan on reordering this same item as it appears to be the best one out in the market despite the stitching problem. I will have the new one securely stitched before using. Hopefully, this will not happen again.

good product
At the very starting of my running program I used to have knee pain while running and as well several hours after running. I researched the web and found that it is very common with runners and called the "runners knee". Some of the runners fourm recommends to use knee strap just to take a little bit of pressure off you knee while running. So I bought the item and I was pretty impressed. I really helped to take some of the pressure of the knee cap. At first I was worried how it will feel around my knee while running. But you will not feel you are running with the strap after 5-10mins of running. I think the pain I used to have is largely because I was not a habitual runner. But using these straps did help me a lot to overcome runners knee. In course of time I started to run without it. I know how it feels to have knee pain. I recommend people to try this out. It may really help you over come runners knee for good.

It really worksfor chondromalacia patella
This product really works. I've been having problems with my right knee for a while and certain activities made it much worse. I put this one and did the worst of them, and felt better afterwards than I did when I started. I just ordered 2 more of the same product.Amazon thankfully ships it in a plain envelope - the retail package is large and a waste of trees. Unfortunately, there are no instructions on the envelope. Here are the instructions (I've edited them from the retail package):Center the pressure pad under the kneecap (i.e. the little hard tube goes in front of your knee, aimed backwards, the logo is in front, just under your kneecap, like in the photo).Use the shorter velcro strap to wrap the thing around your knee, just under your kneecap, then use the longer strap to tighten it. (You basically use the shorter strap just to hold it on your knee and then the longer strap to make it tighter while it's held on your knee with the other strap. There is a little groove right under your kneecap, it fits in that groove.)Hand wash cold, air dry.Update: I just ordered 5 more so I can have a clean pair whenever I need them. That's right: I now have 8 of them. They are that good.Uh oh, update II: After just under two months, one of them fell completely apart! Both straps came off. Realize that I have 4 pairs of these, and I rotate through them, so this was like two weeks of use. Sewing them back together isn't the most fun thing but it's possible. Just recognize that they might fall apart just when you need them!To sew them, take the two elastic velcro pieces and start with the longest one. On the main piece, there is a little pouch three inches to the right of the logo. Shove the non velcro end of the longest elastic piece into that pouch, with the velcro facing backwards (if the logo is the front). Hold it there. On the back side of the main piece, find the other pouch and shove non-velcro end of the shorter strap in that pouch, with the velcro facing the same direction as the long strap, towards the back side, the side with the beads in the tube. Now sew through both pouches and both straps. Cut away any of the old thread, it won't hold if you try to tie it off, just cut it away. It should last. The others have lasted for over a year.

The straps to tighten it were off and needed sewed back on.

For runners, it doesn't get any better than this strap, works wonders, 5 stars!
This strap is absolutely the best strap I have tried for patellar tendonitis (jumper's knee, inflammation of the tendon that connects the kneecap/patella with the lower leg/tibia). If you run on different terrains, jump a lot, or just do high impact activities, you've experienced this pain at some point.I used to get the tender, bruising pain on the tendon for so long I nearly gave up running. Now, I use this strap every time I go running (2-3 miles fast/hard, 2-3 times a week) and now run PAIN FREE It is truly amazing that some pressure applied to the tendon in the right place can remedy/prevent such chronic pain. You can probably use it if you walk a lot as well, as its a great device for damage prevention. The IMAK strap is well thought out and not cheaply made. I've washed the strap in the washing machine many times and it is still looking new.Pressure is EVERYTHING when it comes to jumper's knee straps. This strap differs from other straps in that there are soft beads that spread the contact surface area more effectively than a piece of rubber or fabric. The soft beads also help when kneeling down, so it doesn't feel like something is being jammed into your knee (but you shouldn't kneel anyway when using these types of straps).2 adjustments can be made for tightness, both are velcro. There is a secondary tab strap that can adjust tightness more, so you don't have to take the strap off every time you want to adjust, a great time saver!
