I use aluminum flat bar like this occasionally for small projects, and ordered these two 12 inch pieces just to have little in stock. This flat bar looks just like any other I’ve bought in the past. There are slight marks in the surface from the extrusion process as well as some surface scratches. Those could be polished out if you really wanted a shiny surface, but that’s typically not a priority with structure material like this.The price on this is also quite competitive at $8.99 for two 12 inch pieces of 1 x ¼ inch aluminum. You might be able to find a lower price per foot if you buy a larger quantity, but this price is decent for short lengths like this.If you need some aluminum flat stock in this size, this is a competitive product to consider.

It's a weaker grade than advertised not sure what grade really but it's ok to work with

Two packaged aluminum bars, slightly over 12” and close-enough to 1” x 1/4” (.23 vs .25” and 0.9843 vs 1”).Great material to have on hand that is easy to bend, cut, file, drill, rivet, and tap to build a bracket or strap.The main difference from the big box stores - which only sometimes have 1” x 1/4” aluminum flat bars in stock - is the lengths they have are often 3 to 4 feet; otherwise, the price per foot is virtually the same. Unless you need more than a 12” piece, this product (2 12” pieces) is easier to store, less investment, and can be used to quickly fix or build something.
