Sunday Missal: People's Edition with New Translation of the Mass [Assorted cover image] Hardcover – 23 Nov. 2011

I chose this edition because it includes the New Mass prayers, and it is a neat, compact book to carry. It really assists me in following the readings and prayers at Sunday Mass, and especially as a Lector at Mass, I can read, rehearse and understand the readings thoroughly beforehand. This book really enhances the whole experience.

Beautiful deep brown/burgandy colour (brown to my eyes, as Father Francis said in his review) with gilt edged pages. The proper of the mass at the middle is a good idea, but I have found it difficult to get to the next bit in time with many pages of prefaces, so I must get some dividers, rather than feel like a plonker flicking through umpteen pages trying to find my place. I will take up the suggestion of another reviewer, 'customer', and buy myself some write-on index tabs. I have the presentation edition which feels and looks elegant. I am a reader at mass and bought it so that I could prepare in advance. I will treasure it.

a must for any catholic its full of every reading the catholic church do and is in order too the churches dates and times of the year so its very easy to follow its a great well made quality little book I love mine and use it every weekend for mass spot on

Just received my copy of the C.T.S. Sunday Missal with the new translation and I am very pleased with it.It is a beautiful book and a pleasure to use. The beautiful gilt edging is delightful. The red edging along the Order of Mass is another excellent addition to this beautiful book.The type is clear and the paper is high quality which will add to the enjoyment and richness of my Sunday Mass devotion.The order of Mass is printed in the middle of the book, which means this much read part is always in a comfortable place with regard to holding the Missal and should ensure even better wear from many years of use.This practical form is similar to my Three Volume Devine Office which has the four week Psalter printed in the middle of each volume and makes the daily use of these books a pleasure.I rated the new Missal 4 stars. I would have rated it 5 stars but the miserly number of coloured ribbons i.e. 2 is not enough to place mark such intricate content. I am reluctant to add markers or prayer cards in the place of markers as this would detract from the aesthetic beauty of the Missal.The lack of ribbon markers plus the very flimsy card book holder lost the 5 star rating.Overall a beautiful book which I am very pleased with.I would have prefered if CTS had of added a Weekday Missal instead of a Daily Missal and I would have had no hesitation in buying a CTS Weekday Missal if it were available. I believe a Daily Missal would be overcrowded and even more complex.

Arrived in quick time by standard delivery. Book was sealed, brand new and red as ordered (this is to allay any worries against criticism given in reviews). I have never used a Sunday Missal in Mass before but I can see how 2 ribbons are not sufficient to book mark all the pages I want until familiar with order. I created and inserted 3 extra ribbons today and have attached a photo to explain how this can be achieved very easily.

Excellent quality. Love the Latin next to the English and the section at the back with the Rosary in both Latin & English with the Mysteries! Love it so much - only wish that it had a few more ribbons, but i have enough bookmarks to spare so it's not a massive issue!

I'm very pleased with this purchase. It has everything I need to prepare for and follow Sunday Mass, with the section on the Order of Mass clearly marked in the centre. It is good to have the Latin and the English translation on opposite pages and I'm also glad of the section at the beginning on the Church's teaching on the Eucharist, and the lovely prayers at the end of the book. Good for experienced Catholics and beginners alike.

a beautiful missal and once again amazon excells on price etc however i have just recieved it and as yet only used it once i found that during mass i was always trying to keep up looking for the page i wanted and was usually well behind the priest and everybody else however i suppose i will get a plan to sort this out eventually alex fife

This is fantastic, by far the best Latin English missal. The CTS Peoples Missal has all the days for all years and is also great. But it is simply too heavy to use without a way to rest it when reading. So, I picked up this edition. Its well constructed and fits in my pocketbook. The translations of the Bible Readings as well as the Responsory Psalms don't match the US English missals. However, the translations are far better. For some people this may be a detractor. Not so for myself. The Daily Roman Missal simply doesn't have that much Latin and frequently has smaller font for the Latin and any directions to a different page. The other item is it has two ribbons are perfect, one for the cannon of the Mass and one for the proper of seasons.

A beautiful missal with a lot of excellent content in both Latin and English.

The missal is just the right size but be warned, the pages are rather delicate. all in all this is a good buy for under twenty-five dollars. The latin is a welcomed addition and the translations from the Jerusalem Bible are the most accurate to be found. A real gem.

It was exactly the right version I needed. I gave this to my dad for Christmas and he loves it! the price is right and the it shipped really quickly! I'm thinking of getting one for myself :)
