By far the most effective trap I have.
I've had a rodent problem with the past year. I have been using snap traps , a black cat rat trap and a trap inside a tamper proof box along with this electric trap.By far this is the most effective. I've caught more rats and mice with this than I have with the snap traps. This is a large trap designed for rats but it will do the job for small rodents like mice tooYou will need to buy some c size batteries for this and you can get Amazon basic batteries which I'm using. I have this with six months. It's killed one rat , two mice and two shrews in my attic.I've caught half as many rodents in snap traps.I'm going to try to buy two or threeore if these because I have a bad rodent problem and this is a great piece of kit.

Waste of money
Having had an unwelcome guest in the house in the shape of a rat I had tried a few of the non-lethal methods to see if they would make a difference. Unfortunately as the rat would not take the bait (both literal and metaphorical) I decided it was time for something a bit more direct. This seemed like a good option as it would probably not be as painful as the other methods. It seems that not only is this not painful, it is also not effective. I followed the instructions to a T, made sure I used good quality batteries (Duracells) and then used recommended bait (peanut butter). No joy on the first night but second night it was triggered. When I checked the peanut butter was gone and there was no sign of the rat. Tried it a few more times but every time the bait was gone but no rat. So overall, £40 down the drain and no results whatsoever. Useless product and a waste of money. Avoid!

Highly recommended quick kill - Caught within 15 minutes of setting the traps
After waking to a kitchen full of rat droppings and devastation it was pretty clear we had taken on a beast of a rat.First course of action was to try the humane trap route. It only seemed to scoff the bait leading to the trap, leaving the contents inside the trap untouched.I decided to set up a camera to try and identify how big this beast actually was. After a night of surveillance it finally appeared, smack bang in the middle of the kitchen floor, completely ignoring the humane traps.Me and the pregnant wife decided it was time to step up the removal measures as it had kept us awake knawing the house structure the previous night. I initially thought glue boards would be the besst solution to our unwanted visitor, but having reviewed several videos it shows that the creatures caught in the glue boards are in so much distress and die a slow death over several hours. This is when I stumbled across the Victor traps. The traps claim to be a quick kill solution and potentially the least painful of the kill-type traps. After receiving the amazon package I set up all 6 with some peanut butter in the bait trough. 4 in the route I know the rat used and 2 in a hidden darker location. After 15 minutes we heard a snap and a loud screech, which lasted about 3 seconds.I checked the camera and straight away saw the limp lifeless body of the fallen solider. These traps are clearly extremely effective even on larger rats, although I feel as though the rat was in quite severe pain for a small amount it time. It looks as though the bar snaped on it's neck and didn't break it instantly potentially strangling the rat until it's final breath.Overall I would highly recommend the Power-Kill traps as a highly effective way of removing a rougue rat from your home.

Did not catch any
I like the idea of a trap that was "no touch" but it did not manage to catch any rodents. I used peanut butter and put it along the wall by the cupboard which was getting attacked by the mouse.

Used for MICE worked great!
Actually bought for a mice problem rather than rats however did the job just the same. Its very simple to set up just attach some bait and flip a switch.Did originally think it was a bit pricey, which I guess I still do but its been so effective I don't really mind anymore to be honest,I can vouch for its effectiveness!A HINT in case it helps - we had a hole where the mice would come out of, I could have covered the hole but they would just find another way.Instead I placed this trap at the very front of the hole so they would walk right into the trap. One set of batteries lasts quite a while and I haven't had to replace them yet.

It works, so don't leave it too long unchecked.
Within 4-5 months it caught 2 small mice. I put peanup butter as bait. I am giving it 5 stars because it does what it says. However I will look for the model with the WiFi, as you really need to check it once in a while (mine is in the loft and it needs ladder, etc) because the mouse tends to stick to it the more you leave it to disintegrade while it's dead. So you end up scraping its remains from the box which is rather unpleasant. Quick tip: Put a calendar reminder to check it once a month.

sadly didn't work
sadly the lone rodent simply popped in and grabbed the cashews from the back of the trap without the shock treatment being activated. nothing works quite like a good old fashioned mechanical snapper and you're much better off using those instead.

Brilliant. The rat was dead within 2 hours!
I bought this to kill a rat in my kitchen. I was surprised that there was an external bait door (the mouse version has a bait area that is only accessible from the inside) and that the bait area was vertical. I baited the trap with peanut butter as recommended and left it overnight. This morning the bait door has been opened FROM THE OUTSIDE and the bait was missing. The rat is still at large.Update: I re-baited the trap and made sure the bait door was pushed into a corner so it wasn’t easily accessible and the rat was dead within a couple of hours. This is genius as long as you use it intelligently (which I didn’t the first time)

Who says you can’t reinvent the rat trap
These work fantastic and will save you money. The way this is constructed makes it very easy and simple to remove rat and reboot for the next. I have bought two bundles of these and taken out small mice to large Jurassic rats. I have take. Out at least 20 so far and reuse the traps every time unlike the traditional ones which can be messy and too close for comfort removal of dead rat: I had only one rat that got away stunned but is was not far away from the trap where I was able to capture him. Baiting is simple, usually I use peanut butter but the rats and mice in our area prefer meats, so chicken mixed with French bread seems to work every time.

Brilliant Product!
These Victor Wi-Fi Rat Traps are simply fantastic. No more checking traps every day! I get push notifications on my phone when a kill has occurred and cleanup is quick and easy.I am targeting mice, but I opted to get the rat trap because of the larger batteries and simpler design. I think it was a good decision, and certainly not a bad one. What's really impressive is the number of multi-kills this device gets! The current record is 4 mice at once, but 2 is more common. As an added bonus, I can gauge when there are still rodents around by whether or not the bait is still on the trap.Make sure you have a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network available. The models I got are not compatible with 5GHz.The Android app is almost perfect. I've had the app get confused a couple times when going through the trap Wi-Fi configuration process. I love the reminders to empty the trap, as well as the stats on each device including battery levels and "Last Update Time". I also get notifications when a trap has gone unresponsive (typically due to dead batteries) and I can go check things out and resolve the issue.Re-arming the trap is as simple as making sure the bait slot is full and then cycling the power with the button on top. Even resetting the Wi-Fi is relatively painless with clear instructions going through the Android app.Battery life is great. I use rechargeable C batteries most of the time, but I do have to upgrade my shed trap to alkaline batteries during the cold months. This is a problem with the battery tech more so than the trap.I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it to others.
