Cool idea and actually makes a difference!
The media could not be loaded. I decided to give this espresso sphere a try. I knew my machine was on the small side, so I decided to go with the three prong as opposed to the four prong style. This was just in case the 4th prong wouldn’t allow me to center the sphere easily.I keep the sphere in my freezer and it’s ready to go whenever I need it.To use, I simply center it under my portafilter (over my cup) and as the hot espresso brews over it, this metal sphere cools it. This streamlines the process of making an iced espresso/coffee. I can’t 100% say it decreases the bitterness, but the reason I use it is because it keeps the ice from melting as quickly and watering down my iced coffee!Cleaning is a breeze with just a quick rinse after use and then It goes right back in the freezer so it is always ready to use. It contains a liquid (which you can hear when you jiggle it), but it doesn’t freeze solid.I have been very pleased with how it works and that it’s convenient to use and small. This metal sphere really doesn’t take up much space in my freezer. It’s fit on every cup that I’ve tried to use it on and it is made very well.It looks cool and I think this would make a neat gift idea for an iced coffee lover! I also feel it’s a good value for the price.

Works okay if you pour sloooooooooowly
This really only works “great” if you pour the hot coffee at an extremely slow pace, or let it drip. Otherwise, the coffee is lukewarm at best. It’s not like I’m pouring 16 oz of hot coffee, it’s usually just two shots of espresso.

TikTok dont lie!
The media could not be loaded. I found a video on TikTok showing how some barista figured out that pulling an espresso shot over frozen steel made espressos taste better. Sounded cool. Looked cool. So I had to try it for myself. This Sphere is the only product I could find that seems to be designed for espresso only. A lot of the other stuff seems to be for chilling coffee or for iced coffee. I just wanted to achieve a subtle temperature drop (compound chilling) to see what it tasted like. I'm sold! The difference in taste is kind of mind blowing. I do taste tests for my friends all the time and they can't believe it either. It also fits (though not as perfectly) on my Nespresso machine.
