Minus33 Merino WoolExpedition Balaclava - Cold Weather Ski Face Mask - Heavyweight

Great for winter running in harsh conditions
This is my second wool balaclava from Minus33 ... after over a decade, I finally wore out the first pair. Light weight and very comfortable ... protects my face when temperatures drop below 10F. I wear a cotton skull cap below the balaclava and the combo is exceptionally effective. The Morino wool is soft on the face, not scratchy. Can toss in the washing machine ... while it can be tossed in the dryer, it's nearly as convenient just to let air dry, which doesn't take long and probably helps with its longevity.

Just. Excellent.
This balaclava is perfect. I used it this last winter to walk over a mile to school and back, and it is fantastic. I used it in temperatures as low as -38 degrees F, with winds of 10-15 mph. It worked great over the top of a beard, for those of you guys out there (or women, for that matter) who like to bundle up their face the natural way during winter.I don’t have any other balaclavas to compare it to, but this certainly met or exceeded what I have to come to expect from merino wool and Minus 33. Comfortable, warm, fits nicely under a winter hat. Takes up very little space when rolled up or folded. Also works great as a neck gaiter. In terms of durability, I’ve only had it for one winter, and I used it just about every day from November to February, and have had zero problems. This is a great choice for those working outside in the petroleum industry, as merino wool is naturally fire-resistant (though it clearly has no HRC rating).

Keeps me warm in the cold
I bought this for running and working outside in the winter. The merino wool feels good on the skin and keeps my head warm. It is easy to pull down the part that covers the face if needed.

Get Over Here!
Best around. Easy to wash and wring. Breathable but will collect condensation around the upper lip, underside of nose. Just wipe off. Keeps warm without staying too warm. Shields from a slice of chilly wind very well. Can breathe through, even when breathing hard. Doesnt smell/taste off. Feels and tastes natural. Good coverage. Good stitching. Good form. Good elasticity. Holds shape, even over time. Seals around the opening. Perspiration doesnt mildew if not able to wash it right away. Very pleased with quality and product.

Merino Balaclava, High Quality, Made in USA
Well-made Balaclava from New Hampshire. Works great. The one-size is form-fitting, very good to wear under a ski helmet. Recommended. My feedback to the maker if they see this review: I'd like to see another version that is double thickness and 10% larger in all dimensions so the fit is looser.

Balaclava for cold weather.
Great for cold weather. Heavier material than ones I found in stores.

Comfortable and flexible fit.
To begin, merino is an excellent fabric. The design of the balaclava allows it to cover your nose and mouth completely, or not. This flexibility is helpful if you wear glasses and your breath fogs them.Timely delivery. I happen to own other clothing from this company and their quality is always excellent.

Very baggy in the face area
I bought for high altitude mountaineering. I used this in a few very cold, windy, blizzard like conditions. It kept me warm but the face is super baggy. It doesn’t fit nice and snug around my nose or mouth. Its very disappointing because I like this company a lot and think they make a quality product. I’m a 210lb man, size large hat, so I don’t have a small head.
