Better Than Expect
Small, compact, and lightweight—this fire starter has been a game-changer for me. I've started more fires with this than I ever have with my ferro rods! While I’m not a hardcore outdoorsman, I’m trying to get outside more, and let’s just say I may have gone overboard investing in ferro rods. But I digress.Having one of these in my pocket, along with some cotton balls coated in petroleum jelly, is a foolproof fire-starting combo. It’s incredibly easy to use, and I even tested it while wearing gloves. Although a bit more challenging, it still worked. The sparks are just the right temperature to ignite cotton balls. I also tried it with waxed jute twine—it works but takes a bit longer to catch.I’m not the biggest fan of Bear Grylls or the products under his brand, but I gave this one a shot and was genuinely impressed. Highly recommend it!

Does What It Says
They work as expected. I purchased these for a small survival kit build. I like the size and prefer these over ferro rods because of the one-handed operation. Plus they are cheaper than the Exotac ones, though not built as nice.

Very hard to turn the wheel.
I got the two pack of sparkers for my hiking bags. I was excited because it appeared to be exactly what I was looking for, which was just the spark. When I finally got a chance to try them I was highly disappointed with how hard it was to spin the sparking wheel. I thought maybe it just needs to have the flint worn to the shape of the wheel for smoother operation but not the case. They are even hard to spin while pushing the wheel against a board. These are unidirectional wheels and have a small arrow to indicate which way to spin. I will be returning to see if possibly both of these flint sparkers are defective or if this product is just garbage.

They work BUT
A spent Bic lighter does the same thing

Kinda okay
Okay. Spark is a bit weak. Bic lighter produces a better spark.

Compact little sparker
Quality and performance were great. Throws a good spark. Sleek appearance in a compact size that’s easy to store in a small kit. Great value for the price

The perfect micro sparker that’s perfect for the survivalist, prepper, or for an emergency kit …
I have a ferro rod, but it’s much larger than this small tool. This is what’s called a micro sparker, which is perfect for putting in a pocket or pack. It’s tiny, but sparks every single time. On either side there’s a ridged no-slip silicone grip. This makes it easier to hold and I’ll be less likely to drop it when I’m using it. There’s a tiny hole in one end where I can put a small beaded chain.Where the wheel is on the top, there’s an arrow. This tells me which direction it turns. It’s hard to see, but it’s there. Obviously, there won’t be any action if it’s turned in the opposite direction. Small, but mighty tool that may just be a lifesaver. Personally, I like to have a Bic lighter on hand, but this type of tool is perfect for the survivalist, prepper, or to put in an emergency kit.
