I ordered this double socket arm simply because the whole thing is made of aluminum. It feels substantial, hard and is just cool. While most similar products on the market are made of only plastic, this one guaratees its longevity and industrialness because of the component material. Paired with a beefy and big butterfly knob, the arm is easy to use, easy to tighten and easy to loosen. Not much more you can ask for except perhaps a small rubber pad, to give you even greater flexibility for the 20mm socket.

Well machined, fits the 20mm ball perfectly, a larger than typical handle for providing the torque needed to get the socket arm nice & tight. I'm using it on an automotive aftermarket switch panel in the Jeep that normally would have required screws in the dash or double back tape. Perfect for GPS, phone, tablet or comms. I was not expecting this to be as high quality as it is. The clamp is made out of a nicely finished metal, so I would worry about your other pieces breaking before this one. Another added feature is its spring-loaded to stay open until you clamp it. So if you're using this at an awkward angle and you only have one hand to set this on the ball, you don't need an extra finger to keep it from shutting too early.

Odd that it doesn't include a head and clamp...maybe, but great way to salvage sub par clamps you may have or just want to re arrange and make franken clamps out of and extend magic arms. Good thing to have in your kit just in case.

This aluminum arm is well made, and does fit 20mm balls. That's a win for me.

I now have a magic arm that serves as an adapter. The machining is nice, and the action of the know is very smooth. the sockets grab the ball ends of the connectors firmly, and when set up, nothing drifts. I now have a magic arm that can take the weight of my mirrorless camera, and it pairs nicely with a crab claw! This will inevitably find its way into the kit of anyone who uses ball and socket mounts!
