For the price this is excellent
I got an ACL injury. I work as a labourer in the construction sector, moving heavy objects most days. The Shock Doctor brace was my second choice after a German brand, however delivery times were unacceptable as I needed it urgently or I wouldn't be able to work. After 2 months of daily use for 10 hours a day, I can say it's borne the stress very well, is comfortable all day, provides very good support and it has allowed me to start healing my knee injury successfully. It's well made and has not deteriorated yet. It may not be the lowest profile however it fits under baggy work trousers just fine. The articulation is rigid enough but allows for movement without restriction or discomfort. The knee pad is very comfortable all day and keeps the knee straight to allow for recovery. I lift 30 kilo objects for hours a day and carry loads and my knee is able to cope. I recommend this knee brace especially for the price vs quality and features. I followed the advice on sizing and measurement and the brace fit very well. It does not restrict blood flow and does not overtly mark the skin. Well done Shock Doctor.

Good value for money for limited support of PCL injuries
I have grade 2 injuries (serious) to the ACL and PCL on my left knee. I'm waiting for reconstructive surgery. The hospital supplied a Medi M.4s PCL Dynamic Brace (costing hundreds of pounds) which does a fantastic job of ensuring the tibia doesn't move backwards due to the torn PCL. A top product!Although the Medi brace is lightweight and relatively comfortable, it's still hard to wear 24/7. Also, after a while it affects the soft tissues where pressure is applied.I tried a simple, wrap-around neoprene knee support costing £15. As you'd expect it provided almost no forward support for the tibia. A waste of money for my needs. This Shock Doctor Ultra Knee Support (silly name) is pretty good. Obviously nowhere as effective as the Medi brace, but gives support and confidence for moderate walking. I'm too scared of making the damage worse to try anything more ambitious. Definitely better than nothing and can be worn under jeans all day.I needed to restart some kind of cardio exercises after several months away. I can't run right now, and don't enjoy cycling. So I've been wearing this in the pool (front crawl with no leg use). It works fine. It's well thought out and well made. Some reviewers said to go up a size. I measured 2" below the patella as 37cm and got the Large (35-37.5cm). It's very snug and I only just get it on and off, but I wouldn't want to go up a size.

Sizing correct!
I ruptured my ACL and was in need of a brace to stabilize my knee. This brace was recommended by a Physio on YouTube so I thought I’d give it a go.I was worried it would be too small as I ordered the S based on the size & measurement guidelines but then read reviews that say it runs small so order a size up. This was not the case for me & the S fits perfectly and is even starting to get a bit loose at the top and the elastic Velcro straps are already stretched out.I still would recommend this brace as it’s extremely supportive & doesn’t fall down as others do.I would agree with another reviewer who said it’s impossible to take off after the gym if you’re sweating or it gets damp. I really struggle to remove it after a work out. Otherwise, I don’t have any major issues.I have not yet washed it so will see how it holds up after a run through the washing machine.

Great knee brace
Tore my median and anterior cruciate ligaments in a freak skiing accident last year. At the time and during my rehabilitation I feared that might be the end of skiing for me as the damaged knee feels significantly different to the other one. The main problem is that the structure of the knee feels “loose” despite a significant amount of physio and muscle training. Decided to give the Shock Doctor Ultra a try after reading positive reviews and crikey did it deliver. Just got back from a week in the Italian Alps and went skiing every day - the brace is comfortable, breathable, well designed so it can easily be worn under salopettes, and most importantly it gives incredible support which seems to stabilise the whole joint. Not a twinge even after a full day on the slopes. The hinges and cross brace straps really give you confidence that the original injury is being protected. Take care with sizing when ordering as my measurements put me right in the middle of the medium bracket but the brace is a really snug fit. Might be an idea to go up a size as you will still be able to adjust using the straps. I have also started wearing the brace whilst playing tennis and again it just gives you more confidence that the knee will not give way. Overall a great product that works brilliantly.

Gain medical advice first
I purchased the above brace after reading the reviews. I knew I had a acl issue and due to physical job was told a support would be advisable. The brace is comfortable very supportive, but when my knee collapsed in the brace the motion of the collapse against the ridgity of the brace has in fact ruptured my mcl lcl and pcl and completely ruptured the acl and meniscus to the point of none existence on scan I now need total recon surgery. My surgeon told me on seeing the brace said it is not a proper brace for the injury and it should have a movement and flexibility rather than the full ridgity which allows no range of motion. May be I have just been really unlucky but medically check fit for your purpose first

Good knee support
Expensive but works well. My knee feels supported. My measurements was a XS but I’m glad I got a S as it’s quite snug

Poor quality 1 star due to quality.
This was bought originally in July 24, with a view to using when my knee became more painful so only worn for odd days only certainly not more than 10 days. Noticed stitching given way around inner knee raising questions of longevity of product when this was noticed in just over a week of wear (not continuous) disappointed with Amazon 28 day return would not recommend which is a shame because it does the job but quality certainly of this one let's it down.
