These things will last over a decade
Decided to have a spare put back in case I need it. My current one has lasted over 10 years and honestly looks like it could last 10 more. From what I've seen the best way to make them last is don't hit any sharp corners or surfaces and wipe any chemicals off as quickly as possible.
