Japanese Kamenoko Palm Brush Tawashi) Length 130?mm
J**J
A very old tradition that works surprisingly well in a modern kitchen
The best thing about this very old-tech traditional Japanese vegetable scrubber is the delicate Japanese packaging it comes in. You know you are unwrapping a treasure of Japanese tradition. And then when you use it you find it works quite well even compared with modern plastic ones. Take scrubbing sweet potatoes or carrots, for example. The modern plastic brushes that also have backs with more severe scrapping tools are more effective... but they don't last long and start shedding their bristles... into your food. Yet the Kamenoko does not shed. It lasts. It's very nice to hold and easy to use. Is it clean? Not idea; I wash it under the tap but it's colour means I don't know.... I just hope it is.Bottom line? the plastic brushes are gone, I keep and use this one and my food tastes fine.
