Excellent for rooms where you cannot use smoke alarms
Works well with the X-Sense system. Note that this is the model which requires the X-sense hub and it does not support Wifi. I personally think this is a far better solution than the Wifi models. These alarms form their own network and communicate with each other regardless of whether your wifi is functional. Then if an alarm goes off, one alarm will set off all the alarms. I have some back rooms in my basement where we could not possibly hear an alarm if we were sleeping on the second floor, so this one feature is really the very most important feature in my view--it's the whole reason I went with these type of X-sense alarms.Their Hub is nearly free if you buy a 3 pack of the smoke and CO alarms. I have manyu if those as well, and I added 3 of these heat alarms for kitchen, garage, and furnace room (where heat rather than smoke alarms are recommended). At this point I have 14 X-Sense alarms and I am really happy and feel certain we would know right away if there was a fire or carbon monoxide problem. They do also have a similar model which does not use a hub. The only pupose of the hub it to provide access via an app, the hub is not required for alarm function. So you can get the hub kind or the non-hub kind, and note they are different models. If you don't want to mess with an app or hub, get the other kind. I like how the hub lets me set off tests and see battery and RF signal levels. The hub is more about monitoring device health and is not required to be online for alarm function to work.Again, just personal advice, but don't get the wifi ones. Get the ones that form their own network independently from Wifi. The independent network models require nothing except the battery powered alarms themselves for one to set off all. Meaning even if you have no power, no internet, no wifi, they will work exactly as intended. I work as a computer network engineer and know what I am talking about--Wifi is bad for this application.

Simplicity that works - Great add-on
I reviewed the main system earlier (see below). This add in heat detection is fur this rare moments something is burning without immediate smoke (like inside a wall or near a gas fireplace). You need to get a base to make this work. I recommend their other devices.Review for full protection: After reviewing a number of systems, I settled on X-Sense because these detectors are interconnected and WiFi based. The app is easy to use, the detectors are super easy to connect and installation was effortless. On top of it the functionality is prs rival and offers the right amount of options. I expanded the fire detection system to include the X-Sense security system. Because I can now get instant alerts on my phone wherever I am, I opted not to buy their monitoring plan - yet. Should I do so, the top plan is only $49.99 per year for both fire and security. That’s equivalent to one or two months of regular plans with the more known companies.

Easy to set up
I bought this for my garage because I read not to put a fire alarm in there. This seams to be working well, and was very easy to set up since I already have the app set up with co2/smoke alarms. Would recommend for piece of mind.

Excellent.
It all started with a mailbox sensor. I researched all that was offered on Amazon and decided on X-Sense. I am so glad I did. I now also have a driveway sensor, multiple door and window alarms, motion sensors, 6 keypads, smoke and heat alarms, water sensors, temperature and humidity sensors. I have a complete security system and a complete safety system. X-Sense tells you you can have 50 devices on a base station. What it doesn't tell you is that you can have multiple base stations. I have 2, one named security and one named safety. I control everything from the app and get notifications for everything. The available settings in the app are extensive, including naming the device, naming its location, choosing a notification sound, etc. You can set the security alarm for off, home and away. You can set the motion sensors to only function when in away mode. I am just extremely satisfied with everything. Choose a device, tap a button on the app, double tap a button on the device, it connects and you are done. If desired you can then tweek things, even editing the order the devices show up on the screen in the app, as well as naming and renaming whatever you want.
