GOOD ICE. BAD REMOVAL.
This clear ice cube maker delivers a mixed performance. On the upside, it produces eight large ice cubes with remarkably sharp edges—the sharpest I've ever encountered. The size of these cubes is generous, which is a plus. The cubes are relatively clear, though not perfectly so, with some internal imperfections that detract slightly from their appearance. Externally, there are dimples from the fill holes; I’ll elaborate below on my frustration with filling this mold. However, the maker falls short in practicality. Extracting the ice cubes is frustratingly difficult. Even after allowing them to rest and attempting to ease the edges out gradually, removing any or all of the cubes proves to be a challenge. Additionally, the silicone material of the tray does not feel robust and seems likely to degrade with frequent use, a concern for longevity.A notable design flaw is the lack of a clear maximum fill line, which leads to either overfilling or underfilling the molds—both scenarios affect the final product's appearance and ease of removal. The instructions provided do not adequately address this issue, leading to practical difficulties in use.Given these factors—the challenging removal process, potential durability issues of the silicone, and only partly clear, yet dimpled, ice—this product earns a moderate three out of five stars. While it has its merits, especially in the shape of the ice it creates, there are easier-to-use options available that might appeal more to those who value ease and convenience, in addition to higher quality transparency.

regular tap water and I would caution using boiling water, as pouring boiling water directly
wanted to jazz up my cocktails and this was a winner. It's the size of a small toaster and makes up to 8 clear ice cubes. I have used filter water, boiled filter water and regular tap water and all seem to work ok. I would caution using boiling water, as pouring boiling water directly on the rubber/plastic mold might cause it to warp. When I use boiled water, I usually fill the mold half way with room temperature filtered water first then pour in about 1/3 of the hot water, then place the cube mold into the container slowly. I then top off the mold with room temperature filtered water.
