A Dutch friend gave me one of these as a gift several years ago. The theme was Dutch songs. I used it several times a week to make soft and hard boiled eggs. I wanted to give one to my daughter a few years ago but couldn't find them on the internet so I had to get her a different style which was much less fun. My Dutch egg timer eventually gave up the ghost and I was so sad, really. I missed it singing and the perfect eggs it makes. I was going to write to the company in Holland to see if I could buy a new one when lo and behold they appeared on Amazon! It may seem silly but I was so excited. I bought three, two as gifts. And I learned from the instructions (in English) that the non-replaceable battery will give out after a couple of years. No problem. I'm planning on stocking up on these. I got my grandson the Pirate and the Mafia Boss for my sister and myself. I love the variety. I will buy a bunch as gifts. They are charming unique hostess gifts.

This is an egg everybody needs. Very easy to always have a perfect boiled egg!

My elderly father eats a boiled egg for breakfast every morning. When he told me that, I bought him this somewhat as a joke. HE LOVES IT. I went to visit him a month later and he raved about how it cooks the perfect egg. It took him a few tries to know exactly what to listen for to get it how he likes it, but now he does, he is delighted. He uses it every day. I may have to buy him another one - perhaps a different character - when a battery dies in a few months.

I was skeptical at first, but now use it almost daily. As soon as you figure out what to listen for it works well. It's hard to be perfect, but it is not really the fault of the device. If you cook 4 eggs at the same time, you will find a difference in the doneness of each. Update: Battery died after 5 months.

Sent as a gift. Recepitient loves it and uses it weekly. There is a variety of designs and songs to choose from.

Make sure you keep this timer with the eggs in the fridge. This is extremely important, because in order for it to work properly it has to be the same temp as the egg. Accurate, fun and funny. A wonderful way to start your morning.

Very cute product, but I am disappointed with the purchase. It would have been returned if it had been a more expensive item. I'm 73, so I've been eating eggs a long time-lol. I like them soft-boiled. Better like your eggs close to raw if you use this product. For soft-boiled, wait until the second song. Medium is the last song, and, well, you'll just have to guess at well-done.

Works great, does exactly what it claims to do. And it's cute.

Accessorio per gente pigra: lo tieni in frigo con le uova, quando ne vuoi fare una soda (o alla coque o media), metti uovo e ovetto musicale in un pentolino con acqua fredda. Accendi e in funzione della melodia che dopo un po’ suona hai una delle tre modalità di cottura elencate sopra. Zero sbatti.

I did use this egg now 4 times and in the middle of the night i did hear a strong sound from the kitchen and finaly findoud that my egg did make anoing sound! I did try it in the morning if it did still work but unfortiantly it only give a strong high sound! And its not a Nice sound like an alarm from a smoke alarm!

This little beep egg is a lifesaver! Not only does it work every time, but The Godfather songs are recognizable and loud and spot on! I can’t boil an egg without this little gem! I’ve given them as gifts and everyone loves them! Brilliant idea!
