Item that shouldn't need replacing
It is a quality piece, but it's a shame such an expensive product has components such as this piece that require replacement due to design issues.

Not the same as included with camera
While it fits perfectly fine, it is not the same piece that comes with the R5 mark ii. I was in a pinch and thought might have lost mine so ordered another. Shortly after ordering I found the original but know i'll lose it eventually. The new one has no metal on the underside locking it into place or whatever it is for. However it seems to sit and do its job so I don't think it really matters. I just wish they were more clear about these things altogether.

Fit my R5 perfectly.

This is meant for Canon's newest shoe mount
This will not correctly fit any EOS camera designed prior to the R3, which incorporates a completely new hot shoe. It should also work fine on the R6 mk. II, R5 mk. II, R8 and R1. This is not made to properly fit the R, RP, R6 or R5. The other review saying it fits an EOS R5 was incorrect. It's a poor fit, at best, and you WILL lose it. Canon should have been more clear about this, hence the 4 stars.
