Hand operated OO gauge junction signal
These hand-operated OO gauge signals have been available for many years from Hornby. They are useful if you want to model a Southern steam-era railway. Although these signals cannot be remote-controlled, they look the part and there is nothing to go wrong.

Fiddly
Not bad, but it has its problems.The main problem is that you have to assemble the guard rail and stanchions around the signal platform. The stanchions are very fragile and can break easily and it is not very easy to bend the guard rail to the right shape.Unless you are using Hornby track you may also find it difficult (if not impossible) to attach the signal to the track. I haven't found that to be too great an inconvenience as I have been able to build the signals into the baseboard.The signals are purely cosmetic, as they cannot be operated remotely - they can only be changed manually.
