Fantastic grown-up gaming/multimedia laptop
I wanted to give it a little time owning this computer before leaving a review- I'm happy to report that it has been an all around phenomenal purchase. I'm using a 15X-BK4, i7-8750H with the RAM upgrade to 32GB. I opted for the 512GB SSD but have since upgraded with an additional 512GB 970 EVO drive (I hadn't yet "needed" it, but I saw myself filling up the drive with games/home vids/photos/etc).I'm not a typical computer gamer...at least I hadn't been since I was in high school. Now some couple decades later....I'm baaaaaacccckkk. My intent with the device was relative portability (all this power at sub-5lb is incredible), battery life (I actually haven't had to maximally test this out- I have left it on high power, all settings maxed out and managed ~4hrs- but if I tweaked everything I could easily see this going to the 8-10hr range), VR gaming (thus far everything I've thrown at it has been flawless at max graphic settings; using a Samsung Odyssey), 4K video editing (seamless)- and I wanted all of this in a "professional" looking package, rather than some futuristic-beast-gaming laptop. This delivers.I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Well balanced, no regrets!
This is the only laptop that checked off every item on my list. I wanted something thin and reasonably light for carrying to work, vacation, or over to a friend's place and simultaneously pack the beefiest gpu you can squeeze in. It had to have a number pad, thunderbolt 3, a 15.6 inch screen, huge battery, back-lit keyboard, with an aluminum frame. To top off that list, and it's admittedly a ridiculous list, but I wanted it to look nice. No "badass" gaming aesthetics, no colors other than neutral black and white, just a simple and minimal design.I was ready to sacrifice a few of those, but I didn't have to. Gigabyte just nailed it, it's the most well rounded machine I found throughout all my research. Plus I got some goodies, like a backpack and a wired mouse (the Beats by Dre headphones are still on back order, I'm patiently awaiting those). As someone who uses their laptop for everything, even as a desktop by docking to a USB-C Hub, I can't speak more highly of this machine. It's pricey, but not unreasonably so considering there were no corners cut in my opinion.

Great machine.
So far i am actually enjoying the machine. I find it easy to look at, solid, and very powerful. The main use for this machine is going to be as for graphical design, photo and video editing. I will also play video games games with it.In the month that i've had it, I haven't had any issue with it except for a audio driver problem which was easily fixed and one instance of blue screen of death that happened while I was installing some software and watching a youtube video. It hasn't happened again and and i've tried to replicate the situation.___Several months have passed. I am more in love with this machine now than when i bought it. Great for photo editing, Ilustrations and some video editing. Also great with games (older titles mostly). The design hasn't gotten old at all.Over all I would say that it is a very balance computer, Not with out faults, but those gives it character. Most of these faults are related to driver updates.

Great laptop, just one issue
I have had this laptop for a few days now and so far it is treating me very well. It looks great and everything is running smoothly. I did do a clean install of windows because I saw that recommended many times online. My only issue is my "o" key seems to be acting up sometimes. I'm not sure if this is a known issue or if it is just my laptop, but sometimes when I press the key while typing it either will not register and nothing shows up, or it registers twice and I end up with "oo". I am not a super tech savvy person, so I'm not really sure what the root of the problem could be. I am coming from a 2012 Macbook Pro, and never had any similar issues with that keyboard. Other than that, this has been treating me very well.

Solid gaming laptop with desktop power.
I purchased this laptop because I was not satisfied with the Razer Blade 15's build quality. The Areo 15X offers the same specs but in a more durable shell. The screen seem to have better color accuracy so that your not sacrificing that for a high refresh rate like you are in the Razer Blade 15. This one is a keeper. The computer has upgradable RAM (up to 32GB) and two NVM-e SSD slots. The mouse that came with the laptop was mediocre. The mouse feels light and buttons are clunky.Overall, this one is a keeper.

Truly a Dream Laptop
Amazing laptop, graphics, ram, the processor couldn't have asked for anything more. Just wish the trackpad could have been windows precision drivers, hope gigabyte update that soon!

ensure clean os install and GeForce drivers updated and it is a great machine.
Great machine....... After you Purge all the gigabyte software and ensure you get drivers from their sources. Was quite unstable for the first week, just remove everything and don't reinstall the gigabyte software unless you like bsod loops.
