After two trips to Vietnam in 2010, I was hooked on their coffee. If tou want coffee that has no acidity, not the slightest sour aftertaste, just pure rich bitterness without burnt overtones, then this is it. This is pure Robusta with no added flavoring or other ingredients. It is very strong, having twice the caffein of typical Arabica coffees. Remarkaly, it retains its qualities regardless of how it is brewed. I sometimes use a Keureg with steel cups which is similar to the classic "pfin" pourover used in Hanoi cafes. It is almot as good using a conventional drip coffee maker. If you want a more traditional coffee with lower caffein and some fragrant flavor, try the Trung Nguyen Gourmet Blend. Most Amerians are unaware that Vietnam is the second largest producer of coffee in the world after Brazil. In the mountinous north you can see thousands of acres of hillside covered with coffee plants.

While I have enjoyed coffees from Vietnam, this was just okay. It wasn't bitter but the taste wasn't as good as some others I have had.

Takes forever to brew on an entry-level espresso machine. It chokes and I have to brew the same grounds twice to fill up my cup, due to the grind size being too fine. It is my understanding that this coffee isn't advertised for espresso machines, but I still wouldn't recommend it not even for moka pots either: only time I used a moka pot, the coffee tasted burned and lacked the chocolatey flavor.
