The thermometer is completely inaccurate. I was first able to tell the thermometer was completely inaccurate when it completely inaccurately measured the temperature of (very obviously) boiling water at about 88 degrees Celsius. I have repeatedly checked and verified this with a completely accurate (and expensive) digital thermometer which confirmed my suspicions that water does in fact boil at approximately 100 degrees Celsius and that the thermometer in this moody kettle is about 12 degrees off. Having said that, it pours inaccurately measured water fairly adequately, hence the 2 stars.

So easy, and when you are fussy about the temp for water for your coffee or tea it is great
