Well worth the long wait for publication!
I own many of Nicole Hollander's books and I've always loved her artwork & her irreverent sense of humor, but this book is her very best. Not only is the artwork terrific and very colorful (and there's a profusion of it), but she's written a wonderful memoir about her childhood.

I loved this book
Although I am somewhat younger than Nicole I could relate to much of her story. I have read all of her previous books and love Sylvia. My only complaint is the book is way too short.Linda On On the

LOVED TO READ ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF MY YOUTH
LOVED TO READ ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF MY YOUTH. HER LIFE STORIES WERE GREAT, THE ONLY THING I WAS UNHAPPY ABOUT WAS IT ENDED TO SOON,

Insight into Hollander's childhood and the neighborhood she grew up in
But that is pretty limited - growing up in Chicago during the same period - her story is not much different than most folks (in fact most of my friends have far more interesting and crazy childhoods) It is a nice document of an era for that neighborhood and a good auto bio of Hollander who has had an amazing run as a cartoonist.
