Collins Minecraft STEM Engineering and Mechanics: Official Workbook

Workbook
I think it's a really good idea to use Minecraft as a way to engage children with a science/technology workbook. Once you get into the book it has fairly standard workbook elements with realistic photos combined with more Minecraft themed pages. It is colourful and engaging.

Very fun educational experience
I got this for my almost-7 year old son who's in year 2, and whilst some of the other books in the collection were just slightly too advanced for him, this one seems like something he can follow.Very well put together and with the theme of problem solving, this book is great for development.Quite a lot of nice activities, such as designing a mountain railway and security systems, things which both my son and I can actually build in Minecraft once he has jotted down his ideas in the book.I'll be definitely be picking up others in the series as they are perfect for my son (when he's a tiny bit older anyway).

Engaging activity book
I've got this to try with my 11 year old. Although it is a bit young for her and she did find the exercises fairly easy I found that she actually engaged with it and has done everything because it involves Minecraft. I have given here quite a few books to try various subjects but this is the best of them. The level of difficulty is more aimed at my 9 year old so would recommend for that unless, like me, you just want your kid to sit quietly and do some practice exercises and happens to love Minecraft.

Fantastic combination of minecraft and engineering
I can't praise this book highly enough. Ordered for my 10 year and he hasn't let go of it since I gave it to him.Super mix of physics/engineering theory explaining how things work and then applies then to real world (minecraft world!) applications that they can build and adapt. Has an element of coding in there and also minecraft commands. My son sits with the book on one side, an ipad looking up the commands on another and Minecraft on the xbox in the middle. It also encourages thinking with questions rather than just giving instructions on how to build stuff. It's at a good level, I was worried it might be too simple but I think it's perfect for a 9/10 year old. It says 7-11, possibly a 7/8 year old would be a bit too young to get the most out of the book.

Cool workbook for little minecraft fans
I got this for my 9-year-old sister who is pretty advanced for her age. It's not something she can complete entirely without help but it is pretty easy to understand and she certainly knows more about Minecraft than me. As a historian, I love the little historical elements, such as information and questions about the Ancient Greeks. I think this is a really fun way to teach STEM skills to kids while making their favourite video game an educational experience.I think for a kid to do this entirely alone, the 10/11 range is more appropriate. An average 7-year-old would certainly need a lot of help. So think of this as an cool activity you can do with a kid in your lif
