This has a sharp blade and does require caution, but the results are enjoyable and creative. This is my first retractable magnetic bread making and bread lame scoring tool, and it works great. I usually used a sharp knife, or a razer blade, but after accidentally baking a razor blade into a loaf I knew I needed a safer solution (luckily nobody was hurt!). This tool does the trick and comes with 5 extra blades so depending on how much bread you bake it could last you a year or more.

Reliable and sharp. It's hard to slide it open the first time, but after that, works like a charm. Also comes with some good little score pattern guides, which is fun. It's nice to be about to keep a lame in the drawer without worrying about an open blade.

Comes in a box with extra razors stores safely the unit is easy to clean n cuts fairly well into prepared dough. I was impressed when I received it for the safety n quality of Lame. Ive another one which is not safe n I’ll only use this one now. Only as sharp as the quality of razor u use

This item arrived undamaged and in a timely manner. I was excited to open and prepare it for use.The razor blades were incredibly thin and easily bent and mishapen. The next issue was that neither I, nor my husband could attach the blade securely to the plastic piece that is supposed to hold the blade and slide up and down, inside the casing. No matter how, we couldn't get it to be secured, so I gave up and put the sharp, yet cheap blade back in its envelope, put it all back in the package and counted it as a bad purchase and a loss.This is the second lame of this style that I've ordered and didn't have the same issues with the first one as I did this one. Poor design, poor quality blades, and wasn't ever able to close it with a blade inside and use it. Save your time and money and avoid this item.

Excellent value. Does a great job...very sharp. Cuts well

The slider in this lame was tight/stiff until moved a few times. It got noticeably better after using it. Not loose but easy to move.What's good about this?1. Easy to use2. Magnetic - attaches to metal3. Safe when not in useWhat could be better?1. Improve the directions - there are none.2. Glue the magnets in place - they're held in place with friction, but not enough to keep them in place when changing blades. If you put it together with the wrong side of the magnet up, it won't go back together.

The media could not be loaded. I recently got the Bread Sling, and they've exceeded my expectations. They're durable, heat-resistant up to 480°F, and incredibly easy to clean – just rinse or pop them in the dishwasher.
