This is a better quality product than I expected. The material is thick, strong and seems to be durable. I love that it can be converted from backpack to a shoulder bag and vice-versa. The privacy option is useful not only to hide my dog but also to provide protection when it’s cold. The bag has a sturdy frame that prevents the top portion of the bag from collapsing into the dog, and yet, it’s flexible enough to be pushed down if, for example, you to put the bag below the seat in front of you on an airplane. I have used the bag two times already with my long-hair chihuahua. My negative feedback is that the straps falls/slides down my shoulder when I’m wearing a smooth jacket like Uniqlo especially when the load is not heavy, i.e. when my dog is not in the bag. Good thing I have this piece from my old backpack (Brooklyn Industries) that joins the two straps together by fastening like a seatbelt. The piece is made for this purpose so I’m happy.

Love this carrier for my dog!I was worried that my puppy wouldn't quite fit this bag (13-15 lbs Maltipoo who is around 17 inches long from the back of their neck to their tail? And around 12-13 inches from their shoulder to the floor!) But it did and I'm glad that I bought the privacy carrier to try it out! I chose the privacy one as my dog is a barker if they see anyone or hear anyone (poorly socialized :( ) and this helped make it less stressful for all of us when traveling to the car from the apts.One issue with this bag, for me, is that the shoulderpads are too spaced apart and sometimes slips off my shoulder (and I do not have a small body frame). Another is that the floor pad/board thing doesn't attach to the bottom of the bag (this is a small issue I think though).Thank you for a great and cute carrier! I wish they sold the other colors on here as well!

This soft-side duffel has great openings. It does not open at the top. My other carrier from Prefer Pets does. But it opens on either side with a mesh closure and a canvas closure that zip up separately. It is reasonably sturdy. It gets clawed and has not been damaged in the light use I have made of it. (Ditto for the other carrier from Prefer Pets.) Neither of cats gets frantic in the carrier though. They are unhappy until we leave the house at which point the carrier becomes the home away from home. One of my cats hopped in the moment I took the carrier out of the box. I try to encourage that by leaving the carriers out from time to time when I do not need to take them anywhere. This back-pack version is much easier to carry when I take my cats to the vets.

Good:There's things to like - it's incognito for pets (easy for people to not realize there is a pet inside)It's reasonably comfortable as a backpackIt's easy to carry at your side due to slimmer profile than boxier bagsBad:VERY FLIMSY construction - super thin straps and buckles - I actually tied paracord around the strap fasteners connecting the bag to the backpack straps as a backup in case the clasp came undone or just broke. Once - it did come undone and my paracord did it's duty. Still SO CHEAPLY MADE!!!!! I'd much rather pay a few more bucks for a sturdier design as I carry a dog I love so much in it and I want him to be safe!Backpack straps slide off super easily - which it had a chest strap to connect them for comfortI would be sure to pay attention to the weight of your pet and if it is on the heavier side.. this bags thin flimsy quality might give way

I was a little skeptical about purchasing yet another pet carrier from Amazon, however this bag was absolutely perfect. It is sturdy well built and more importantly it kept my pup safe and comfortable during a 12 hour flight across seas. My 7lb Chihuahua was able to turn around, stand up, and lay down comfortably. The best part was the ability to use the privacy covers, as he sometimes get anxious in the hustle of the airport. Great bag for a great price!

Interesting that they only give you star ratings for the options they already know are strong - lol. Been buying this same carrier for a couple of years at least. Recent design changes are def detrimental - the new flaps on the ends if not fully zipped hang clumsily and my pet actually seems too closed up when zipped - like in a dark cave. (He is not nervous and doesn’t need this) I literally took scissors and cut them off. I’m all for improvements but these features don’t seem like one. reminds me of the silly saying: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”

I liked that it is comfy to wear as backpack.the bag looks more like a computer bag then a pet carrier.This is a good choice if you try to hide your pet or prefer it is covered with little windows. This seems the main purpose of this bag, to hide the pet, which was not necessarily what I was looking for, but the pro is that the bag can be used as backpack, shoulder strap or handle, making it versatile.

I thought that carrying my cavalier in this would be too heavy, but the bag really distributes her weight well. And, she can't sit up for very long, since she's disabled in her hind legs. But, the head opening it just at the perfect height. She can stick her head out very comfortably. It's also longer than it is tall, which is a big improvement over other bags I've tried.
