I'm partially at fault for thinking something like this would actually work, but I was desperate! My neighbors dogs were driving me nuts so I thought I would try it. The instructions were vague and not written well. When I got the battery in there was nothing to hold it in place, it was just loose in there. I had to carefully drop it into place and move it to its final location without the battery losing contact with the receptors. The light worked for a few days, supposedly indicating that it was reacting to the dog bark. But then the battery would not stay in place. Even if the batter slot was designed well I am certain this product would not really work. It probably does not emit anything at all. Please don't waste your money! Just go talk to your neighbors.

Depending on the dog this works great. I have found some dogs respond quickly and stop barking while other dogs take a couple weeks to figure out they are making the annoying sound by barking. So far its been 95% successful. Sometimes a dog that has stopped barking for months will bark to alert owner of issue, but typically ends up being short barks and then will go back to not barking for another moth or so. I had 3 neighbors with 5 dogs which are now typically quiet.

This makes it hard when your doing research to get an honest idea of the product. Skin? Vacuum? Mufflers? What's this about?

I don't think that any of these devices actually impacts how a dog acts. There was no evidence the dog could even detect it. No change whatsoever, either short term or long term.

I purchased this item because my new next door neighbors have a dog which barks like a moron every morning when they leave for work. I set it outside my slider door facing their yard about two feet high on a bucket. The distance between the device and their yard is less than 20 feet. This device is supposed to be weatherproof but it broke within two rain storms. They sent me a replacement that I now have under an overhang. I had to buy rechargable 9 volt batteries because it would burn through one in a few days.

I love how quick this works - only down side is if you leave it on to prevent excessive barking while you are gone you will go through a lot of batteries . Wish I bought one that plugs in .

Thought I was getting rechargeable, but recieved one that takes a 9 volt battery. Tried it on my own dogs inside, didn't work. So thought maybe it's supposed to work outside so I put it where it was suggested for annoying barking neighbor dogs... nope still didn't work. It lit up like it was working but didn't do a single thing. Dogs didn't even hesitate. Piece of junk. Of course I missed my timeframe to return so stuck with it.

For our basset hound, with extremely sensitive ears, it works well even on the lowest setting. She runs under the bed, but for our neighbors Pit bull mix, it DOES NOT work on her. She is a year old or so, and barks for the fun of it at 6:30 in the morning. We had this going on full blast, with a new battery, right by her face (on our side of the fence) and it didn't even phase her. So it just depends on the dog.
