Love the Giants.
Love the look inside of my favorite baseball team. I hope they write/audio more.

An inside look at the Giants’ move west, and a couple that they didn’t make
I grew up a Giants’ fan from a Giants family, and having endured many cold nights as a little kid at the ‘Stick I was instantly transported back to my childhood and some of my fondest (and coldest) memories growing up as I read this. The sea of concrete and the chain link outfield fence. Hot dog wrappers swirling high above the field in the ice cold winds. The dot matrix orange scoreboard. Will the Thrill, Mitch and many others who were good but not good enough to beat the crosstown rival A’s. The team was snakebit for 40+ years in that place. An interesting read into all the machinations of three successive owners and their attempts to save an often failing ball club on the field and for SF fans. A must read for Giants fans but also baseball fans in general.

A GRAND SLAM
If you are looking for a coffee table book filled with color pictures, this book is not for you. However,if you want to know about the team's turbulent sixty year history and those legendary CANDLESTICK stories that became a trademark of the city, this book will please you. There are also anecdotes about the team's early stars like MAYS,MARICHAL,CEPEDA and WILLIE THE STRETCHER McCOVEY.Well done from beginning to end.Any true baseball fan should enjoy. In case you don't remember,THE BEATLES's last concert was at CANDLESTICK in 1966.

A great read
It's easy to love the story of the San Francisco Giants as Garratt brings it home. Baseball is a sport, a circus, a business, and a community treasure. Garratt weaves those threads together by focusing on the owners and the stadiums in which the Giants played. His research to gather the facts and his affection for the team shine a light on what the fuss is all about.

Giant Fans Will Love This Book
The author did an outstanding job describing the Giant's move from New York to their present home. His story brought back fond memories of us teenagers sneaking into Seals stadium to watch the new home team. He aptly described the dog days and horrid nights at Candlestick Park and the struggle to get a new stadium for our home team. I highly recommend this book to all Giant fans and to anyone who loves the history of major league baseball.

Historical detail!
My sister and broth-in-law are going to San Francisco to watch the Blue Jays play the Giants. I bought the book to learn more about Giant baseball and the stadiums they have played in.
