Best of my 4 baskets
I almost didn’t buy this because I have a couple more expensive baskets, but I’m glad I did. This is the best of the 4 baskets that I own. It has great rigidity and doesn’t bow in the middle during a shot like many thinner baskets do. Because of this, though, you will need to make sure your WDT and tamping is on point to avoid channeling. This basket will make you pay for your mistakes. The fine holes on the inside of the basket prevent coffee grounds from seeping through, so you probably won’t need paper filters. Also, the holes don’t seem to get clogged with coffee grounds like some other baskets. The basket snaps in well and holds in place well. The only issue I’m having is that the lip may be slightly larger or smaller (a fraction of a mm) so I need to twist in the portafilter with a lot of force to prevent it falling out during a shot. This issue may be due to the portafilter, though - I’m not sure. The last thing I’ll say is that this 22g basket can do a full 22g shot, which is nice because some baskets can hold a gram or two less than advertised. I think I’ll buy the 18g version of this basket, too, for smaller coffees.

Surprising results
I’m shocked wasn’t expecting much for 15$ but wow I’m using two grams over so 22g on a 20g basket and pulling beautiful shots these run big so expect to add a bit more than stated but you won’t be disappointed if you’re grinder is good and you’ve got fresh beans !! has to be fresh and medium roasted but what do I know

Too big for my machine
Was really hoping this would work out for me - but it did not.The quality is great so no issues there - its a good product overall.I am using it with the Gaggia Classic 2024 - so the Larger brass boiler - still I think it pushing the limits of the machine and produces an inferior espresso. Also I get very wet pucks - I've tried dialing it in for several days and its just a very average (at best) espresso.I guess 18g is the max from that machine.

Steal of a deal
You cannot be at this brand or these baskets for the price. The uniformity both hole sizes and distribution is amazing for the cost.

I'm Impressed
Overall, great value for money. This is a well-machined precision basket with evenly spaced holes, much better than a stock basket. It allowed me to grind much finer than my stock basket. (If you're already maxing out your grinder, it might be time for an upgrade if you want to use finer grinds with a precision basket.)I also like the extra mesh layer that filters out ultra-fine coffee particles. I've noticed fewer stray coffee grinds ending up in my shots now, which is a plus.I was tempted to go with more expensive options from more established brands, but this turned out to be excellent quality at an affordable price. I'm impressed with MHW-3BOMBER and hope they keep up the good work!

Absolute must upgrade for KitchenAid Semi-Automatic KES6403 line of espresso machines!
If you own a KitchenAid KES640X line of espresso machines then this is a must upgrade. I've owned the espresso machine for a good year and a half now and have always struggled to pull a decent shot of espresso that is consistent with the provided single wall double shot basket.Being new to the espresso scene (i actually make cappuccino out of the shot so...dont judge) watching videos and trying to figure out the right way to grind, tamper and pull the shot has been an interesting adventure which prompted me to put a hole through the included portafilter (the included plastic flow mechanism is definitely a design flaw that traps good crema in its crevices) which then allowed me to view & troubleshoot the flow of the espresso up-close. The constant sputtering and sprays after trying out various grind sizes, grounds & measuring the espresso yield i've concluded that my fate is sealed with the entry level espresso machine until i came across this basket filter on sale..Look and behold! A simple basket replacement, 18 grams of medium roasted grounds, exact same brew parameters yielded consistent amounts of espresso (about 65ml). Where it used to sputter and spray consistently now it sputters a lot less (my tamper skill sucks) and barely sprays! Flavor is much more consistent and the appearance of a nice layer of crema became a standard. Trying new beans have been more rewarding now that i can dial into the new grinds a lot easier! I do wonder what and how the "Butterfly Effect" compares to the "Deep Extraction" basket that they have on sale but that is a story for a different time.Overall the build quality is excellent as it fits snugly onto the original portafilter (a bit stiff but works fine for me). It looks like a thin layer of fine filter is fitted onto the rougher filter at the bottom but the thickness of the bottom layer feels like it will hold just fine. This is compared to the original provided basket which has started to buck from the tampering.Original basket weight : 28 gramsOriginal basket mesh diameter : 30mm (about)MHW-3BOMBER basket : 45 grams <--- big difference in build quality.MHW-3BOMBER basket diameter : 50mm (about) <---Chuck the provided baskets and get them after market solutions. No regrets.

Ugh. Loose fit in the MHW 3Bomber Astra Bottomless Portafilter. Keeps coming out!
I have the MHW 3Bomber Astra bottomless portafilter (54mm), and this basket slides into it easily. TOO easily. So easily that when I put it in my machine (Bambino Plus), it comes loose whenever I try to remove it from the group head. It has a very loose fit even in the same brand’s portafilter, and from other comments I’ve read, other people also have fit issues. It’s too bad because it’s a great basket, but there’s something about the way it’s designed that makes it fall out of my portafilter!! Please fix this, MHW. :(

Higher extraction requires finer grind. Very clean coffee puck.
Just got it and start to dail-in. I use DF54 grinder for Profitec 600. When using stock basket, I can use setting at 11. Now I need to get around 5.5, otherwise, the extraction run too fast. The basket is straighter, so the puck comes out much cleaner. It also fit the stock portafilter better than the stock basket. Overall great initial impression.Update after 3-weeks of use: The grind size is back to 10 now, and extraction at good flow rate after 3-4 sec pre-infussion. Really like the clean coffee puck comes out of it. Very satisfied, and got the 22g BEP today.
