I have one custom made by a doctor and this one is just as good and maybe better since it is smaller. I bought the medium and it was too small so I ordered the large. It is still rather small but works great. I measured 23cm and the medium was supposed to work but way too small. I don't know about the longevity of it yet.

I bought both this one and the more expensive one to compare. This one is just as good and I've experienced no breakage. They even send to bands.

This style really works for me and my arthritic thumb joint.The minimalist style of this brace doesn’t get in the way and has been used for everything from guitar playing to working in the shop. Yes it may take a short to adjust it for your hand and to get used to wearing it, but for me the relief has been well worth it.Several years ago my orthopedic doctor recommended a similar brace and it never let me dow. But recently I misplaced it and needed a replacement. Unfortunately that brand has become much more expensive. This Veloeau brace looked similar but was a third of that price. In my experience they both equally relieved the pain and provided the same ease of use. Plus I got a second Veloeau brace fir my other hand.PS I found my old beat up brace and now use it only for the really messy projects.

I am extremely happy with this product! It gives me excellent pain relief and protects my thumb joint. I was looking at the more expensive versions of these but before I spend $100 I thought I would try this brand. Very happy that I did! I bought extra liners, the ones that come with these but you can also purchase them separately, and I'm happy to report that even just using those, which are very lightweight and comfortable, I have found excellent pain relief. They keep my thumb from moving into the position that causes the most amount of pain. The hard plastic part of this brace is excellent in protecting the CMC joint, especially when riding my bike, which is when I was experiencing the most pain. Highly recommended.

I am jack of all trades! Welder, electrician, plumber, lumber jack, carpenter, roofer,,,,, you name it , I fix it! In other words I use and abuse my poor hands on a constant! I need these thumb braces to keep my thumbs from falling off (figuratively)!I had to replace the right one that came apart after only a few days and need to request a replacement for left thumb because it's coming apart in the place as the right one! I think it's a design flaw at a high stress area on the brace.However they do work great and easy to request a replacement! I recommend the product and hope manufacturer comes up with a fix to keep them from falling apart!Update. They help me a lot but DO NOT LAST ! Kinda expensive to replace every other month.
