I bought this as a replacement for my progector. Im definitely glad I did. Saved me money. To be honest I think the quality is better now since I replaced this part.

It works fine on my EPSON 5050UB, when installing it, I had a hard time tightening the screws that hold the lamp in place because they would just spin and not engage. At the end I manage to tighten the screws in but I am not 100% they went in straight, the lamp is in place though.The image was bright and seems to work as fine as the original lamp, we will see if it lasts the advertised hours.I am including pictures of the lamp and one picture side by side with an original EPSON lamp (the EPSON original is on the right on the picture that shows the 2 lamps)Giving 4 stars and not 5 just because the screws seem to not be a perfect fit, although I was still able to put it in place.

Fits, works, not as bright as OEM.

Sorry but this is not an "Original" anything. The picture was so dark I could barely tell the projector was on. Save your money and go for the real thing.

I've read other's reviews on this lamp and was very skeptical. I got it to replace my current OEM Epson lamp in my 5040UB projector when it begins to get dim. My current lamp has 773 hours on it so it is not in need of being replaced yet. So for this review, I just took it out and put the new one in temporarily. After letting it warm up I took a photo on my Canon EOS R50 camera in manual mode where all the settings were identical between my photo below of the new lamp vs. the Epson OEM lamp with 773 hours on it. I cannot tell a difference between the two.The lamp does look a little different from the OEM. In one of my photos, I'm showing both lamps side-by-side. The OEM lamp is the one on top. The box arrived pretty beat up, but the lamp inside was well packaged and worked well. It fit perfectly inside the projector.Perhaps there's an argument to be made that a brand new lamp should be noticeably brighter than one with 773 hours on it, but I don't know if that's true. I don't believe my current OEM lamp is beginning to dim. For the price difference, if this lamp only lasts half as long as the OEM one though, it is still well worth it!So I believe it is safe to say that this lamp works very well in my projector.

I wanted to wait to see how long this bulb lasted before writing a review. The original bulb that came with my projector only lasted for 1389 hours. But this bulb lasted over 4900 hours. I just now replaced it with a new one, and I'm hoping it will last just as long. Both of these bulbs have been brighter than my original as well. Very happy!

280 hrs picture very dark. Pay the extra money for an original lamp. Waste of time and money.
