After originally being sent the wrong simcard in error, this was quickly sorted and a new one sent.

Our adsl (broadband from bt) was beyond useless in the modern age. 13 meg max down was “ok” but 0.8 up was absolutely useless for video conferencing.Substandard service for £27 per month and a telephone we never used.Skip forward to this beaut. Paired with an unlimited EE sim (we didn’t even have great coverage, I’ve had to stick it in the loft) and at night I get up to 130mbps down and up to 50mbps up. £30 a month ee unlimited sim and you are away.Superb router. Very easy set up with great interface for those interested. Very well thought out and new firmwares ipdated automatically.Seems to be a fit and forget solution and I’m not sure I’ll ever use wired again.

It worked fine until I needed to change the SIM card. The spring in the slot broke within a week or so. As I had binned the original box, I contacted Amazon for advice on returning the unit. A very pleasant and polite lady advised on how to contact the manufacturer. This has been a waste of time - Every 2 days I receive a request for 'more' information. First was the hardware version, next was a picture of the broken sim slot, today it is a copy of the invoice. Totally kicking the issue into the long grass! I've bought a number of TP Link items in the past and this is the first to fail but with this after sales service, I'm avoiding in future.

Installed a 5g we sim with unlimited data to power my offsite Ring Floodlight camera. Works flawlessly!!!Good strong wifi and strong signal speeds.

I really like this router but when, as it transpires, you live in a rural no-man's land between cell towers, then there is nothing this kit can do for you. I recommend cellmapper.net to check your odds before ordering. If you are not squarely within a cell, no antenna will be able to catch a stable signal. And if you are lucky enough to be squarely within a cell, cellmapper.net can tell you whose SIM you want.
