A very specific book of course and will appeal to those with either a knowledge of the Tao or a deep desire to learn. To make it more appealing to more readers i think a modern explanation or interpretation would be an excellent addition. I had an advanced copy and read it when I was in the mood, a few chapters at a time (very short chapters) and enjoyed it, will read again.

The thoughts, ideas and philosophies in this book last forever and apply now as much as 2400 years ago. I admit, I struggled at times with what was being said, but I would expect that of something written so long ago. Nevertheless, this is a great book. It has nice illustrations added here and there and has a clean, easy reading format.

The Tao Te Ching is a great work; however, this translation is very poor and misses the original intention. DO NOT BUY.
