Arcade Classic Sega Mega Drive Console Mortal Kombat Edition (UK PLUG)

Really liking it so far. A nice and small console that doesn't take up much space, you get 2 controllers that you can move a switch on them to choose which is player 1 and player 2. Controllers seem responsive, but they have an IR sensor so they work a bit more like a TV remote than a modern blutooth wireless controller. So you really need to sit directly infront of the console aiming the controllers at it. Any slight lift of the controller or being further than a few feet will make you lose responsiveness and ruin your gameplay. The other negative is that the audio is pretty terrible. I recently bought the sega megadrive handheld version and with that having a poor speaker, it seemed to have at least twice as better audio as this did and it is plugged into the TV! Not only are certain audio channels off and sound weird to the original audio of these games (nothing like what a proper ROM sounds like) But the tempo was very slow, and the audio sounded like it was in slow motion.Also the display fits the widescreen TV so it stretches a bit. Which looks decent, but the issue is proportions are a little off. For example playing Streets of rage you have a really far punch reach which seemed off from what I am used to, so you tend to get hit earlier than you expect because it should really be scaled to 4:3. But this is only minor.I only got this to play with my 4 year old nephew on occasion and isn't too bad for under £50. But if you really wanted to play all these titles you are better off getting the Sega Mega Drive vintage collection for X360/PS3 as it has all these games plus more and will be a lot cheaper if you already own those consoles.Still decent for what it is. Don't expect too much from it.

All works perfectly just sound quality is sub par to megadrive 1 or 2, the infared controllers aren't good so id advise buying wired controllers. As a retro gamer I dont mind this for kids but me ill stick with a genuine megadrive with av cable

games were good enough i guess but it started freezing every few minutes after about two months of light use. Horrible quality, stay away.
