I was given these as a Vine reviewer (for free), which is nice, as I've been using Astaxanthin for several years and I was curious to try a different brand, especially as I use a number of other Solgar supplements and I trust them. However, as a Vine reviewer I have to review within 4 weeks and I think it's awfully hard to review something like this realistically in 4 weeks unless it's a really bad product that doesn't have what it says.So, thus far the Solgar seems no different in affect than the Bioastin I've been using for about 5 years. I take Astaxanthin because it has made a difference in knee joint discomfort that the various versions of the usual joint supplements didn't help. If it does all of the other things it's supposed to, that's great, but I can't verify it.The one point that I'd like to make is that the Solgar version seems rather expensive to me, compared to Bioastin, which I use. First, since I use the 12mg version of the Bioastin, I wouldn't buy the 5mg Solgar as it's smarter to buy one larger pill. But comparing the 5mg Solgar to other 4mg versions (it seems to me that 5mg seems unusual) at the current price ($15 for 50 pills, compared to $21 for 120 4mg pills from major brands) is high. You might assume it's the Solgar name, but for many things, there isn't a Solgar premium, so perhaps this is a new product.

I purchased this with the D-Ribose after reading a medical report with recommendations for its use and am amazed how fast this noticeably worked. unlike vit d,e or a etc. which one only notices when you don't take it. pleasantly surprised. I might also add that for 25 years I have always looked to solgar brand first for product reliability. glad I stuck to old faithful. many years ago I had to go yeast free etc. tried a few brands before finding solgar and have never been disappointed with any of their products.

I have been taking Solgar Astaxanthin for about 3 months. I had this throbbing pain in my left leg for over a year. At night, sometimes, I could not sleep with the pain. Believe it or not, I do not have that pain anymore, which I think was arthritis. I like this product so much, I even sent some to my twin sister who lives in Belfast, N. Ireland. I heard about this product on Dr. Oz. I take 2-4mg's a day and have absolutely no pain at all. I will take this product for a long time. I take this because it sounds like we should all take it. i have not noticed any huge differences in my health, but at 66 changes in health to my detriment should be appearing. my last blood tests were those of a healthy 20 year old...so maybe its this supplement. Who knows? I suffer no ill effects from it and will continue with it until something goes south.

It was the first Astaxanthin I tried. No complains. I switched to Nutrex Hawaii Bioastin Hawaiin Astaxanthin because I needed 12mg per day. My tan looks more golden. Once after staying in the sun from 1:30pm till 4 pm during boat ride my shoulders got pink a little. Although shoulders were pinkish skin did not hurt at all. Also I can live without sunglasses now as my eyes are not irritated any more.

A great product. Within three weeks of usage, the thinning of the blood was noticed. I knew it was working on me.
