The New York Times Strictly Medium Crossword Puzzles Volume 1: 200 Medium Puzzles

These are inventive crosswords with a wide range of themes and wordplay from a variety of "authors". The difficulty level is pretty consistent, though not perfect. I've completed 23 of these so far; one puzzle was pretty easy, and another was so hard I quickly gave up. But all in all, very enjoyable.

The clues are often to do with specific US locations and landmarks, as is history and culture - Broadway musicals etc So, although well put together, I would not recommend for those not 100% familiar with US culture.

Great compilation of NYT crossword puzzles. Not easy by any means, but not so hard you can't enjoy the work. Answers are in the back if you get stuck.

I take this book everywhere with me. They are just hard enough that I need to ask friends to help me get the last few clues in! I would say they’re around Wednesday-level difficulty if you’re familiar with the NYT weekly format.
