Disappointing optical performance
The Nikon FSA-L2 zoom adaptor turns an EDG 85 fieldscope into an F-mount full format lens with a 500-1750mm focal range @ f5.9-f21 aperture.I had bought the FSA-L2 and EDG 85, based on the hope that it would be a much cheaper alternative to conventional glass in the same focal range.Unfortunately, it seems there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Compared to a good photo lens, pictures taken with this combination of scope and adaptor seem much less sharp.I used imatest to assess the optical qualities of this concoction, and my MTF50 tests at 1750 mm focal length showed a performance barely approaching 400 LW/PH.In other words, it seems to me that you might as well use a much shorter lens and crop your pictures accordingly, you won't get any less detail.I would think that you might not want to bother with the FSA-L2 unless you already want or have the EDG 85 for other reasons. Buying both for the sole purpose of taking photos doesn't make sense, economically or otherwise.

Tres content du produit qui permet de connecter son APN Nikon a la lunette Fieldscope EDG 85 mais ce prix la ca serait dommage quand même...
