I Love how these knives look, but i was disappointed to find out that the handles on the knives are all metal, and are just painted to look like wood. Each knife is just one solid piece of metal, which is good for the strength of the knife, but is not what i was expecting.The knives are super sharp, and work great, and the wooden block is beautiful and works great for holding each knife. My biggest complaint on the block is that it's shape makes it impossible to put somewhere that you can show off the block, and it be functionally out of the way. Because of the way it's angled, you can either see the knives, or you can reach to use the knives. I guess it's meant to be place so that it faces the wall, and the handles of the knives face towards you, but if that is the case it would have been better to just make the entire blocks enclosed so they wont get dust and such on them.overall, i like this set as it's a big improvement over my 15+yr old set. I like that it only comes with the knives you need, instead of also have 8+ steak knives or something that you don't need to keep in a block.
