Hydraulic Hand Pump CP-180/CP-700 High Pressure Portable Manual Hydraulic Pump Hydraulic Lifting Cylinder Jack Pump with Pressure Oil Gauge

I got this to start building a capability to lift, move, and actuate various hydraulic items manually. I like this pump and how it is made, but now I need to get all the accessories and attachments to let me use it.

So I saw the low profile jack that this could power, but it needed this to make it functional. The very next day poof! this hydraulic pump shows up in my feed. So, like playing a game of memory I grab this part and have been looking for something to use with it. This is one of those type of items that while I know I could find a hundred uses for, I couldn't justify buying, it's also one of those items that buying in pieces is of little benefit. The cost of one part is insignificantly less than buying an entire set. I could buy an entire set of Porta Power tools and pump for less than I could buy two of the tools for this individually. So, not much of a review except, buy a full set, it only costs more to try and piece a set together.

Even though I don't have anything to attach to this pump, I like to imagine the possibilities. I actually got it to upgrade my Roper-Whitney kick punch, because I welded a bracket to house a hydraulic cylinder to press down on the dovetail slide, but only once I received this did I realize that the actual jack is sold separately. UGH! I really liked how there was the beefy hydraulic line that would let me place the handle further away from the jack, but the system looks like it's made to go up to 5tons. The fly weight on my kick punch is already rated to get up to 5 tons by slamming my foot down on the pedal, so I guess it's pretty useless to me unless I can find a tiny cylinder to amplify the pressure that will fit this weird "ZG 3/8" connector. What a mess... I will probably find something suitable at the scrapyard to connect to this. All of these shortcomings were sort of advertised in the listing, so it's really my fault.

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice little hand pump for hydraulic piston tools. I included a picture of the size of the fitting that comes on the pump (it has a yellow plastic dust cover). I changed the fitting on the hose over to my own portable power type fitting to work with my pulling rams. The hose takes a 3/8 bushing. There is some play in the hose fitting, but I believe it is a BSP thread, not an NPT, so with high pressure parts it is important to match up the thread styles correctly. Be sure any adapters you use are high pressure rated. This worked great for me to have a pump dedicated to a ram kit for quick access. The pump comes with a set of spare o-rings, so you can do a basic rebuild when needed. As long as you know you fitting specs, you will have no trouble. If you are new to these types of tools, just be aware that there are many fittings in the market that look a great deal alike, but do not interchange. The ZG 3/8 fitting that comes on this pump is suitably well made, but are more popular in Europe and Asia than the USA. Each pump stroke moves a reasonable volume of oil.

For the money the MMNZE CP-180 Manual Single Action Hydraulic Hand Pump is a handy little pump to have around. I made a simple adapter so I could couple directly to my larger Enerpac fittings making it easy to use with my Porta Power tools.The CP-180 pump came nicely packaged in a purpose built double wrapped cardboard box package designed to protect it in transit.There were no instructions or a parts cut sheet included with the pump that I received, when it comes time to replace seals I'll cross that bridge. The package did contain two small seals for the coupler.

This is basically a high pressure hydraulic hand pump. It will be the emergency back up pump in my shop for all the tools that require such a pump to work. It is of good quality and workmanship. I am glad there is a back-up pump.

The pump arrived well packed with no leaks; however, when I tried to use it with either a 5 or 10 ton set I have, I found that the supplied connector did not fit. I was able to find the correct connector that I needed at a local hydraulic supply house, and the pump does indeed work well and is compact. I have sets of Chinese made hydraulics, so be aware that you may need to change the connector. The listing states that it comes with a ZG 3/8 connector, but I was not aware that was not what I needed - not the seller's fault.

I recently got an auto body porta power ram attachment set with no hydraulic pump so when I saw the Cp-180 new this was the one. Makes using the attachments easier and now I have a full set with rams. Features a non-slip handle that is portable and fits in a plastic case just like the original did.
