Teal Elite Rat Zapper New

have purchased 2 over the past year, first one worked well (5 rats) then stopped. I ordered another and a secondhand one was shipped with peanut butter or similar still inside. Returned it the day it arrived.

I bought about 2 years and removed 5-6 roof rats plus a mouse. over the last 6 months it seems to stay charged for awhile then red light but no rat. tried new batteries but still wont work long. Finally just quit. the older original indoor model is still working after several years, but not rated outdoors. also if you leave the prey in too long, it gums up the works and doesn’t clean easily.

We knew we had visitors in our garage. They were drawn to our residence for the birdseed we kept on a shelf. It became a nightly buffet for the “mouse”. Like any good homeowner we set a humane trap to catch and release the furry rodent far away from our house. However, after a few weeks we knew that was a futile endeavor. We moved the birdseed and suet inside our house taking away the temptation to live in the garage and have a springtime family. We were hoping it would move on to another location. Then one night it happened….. my husband heard scratching around in a kitchen cabinet above the microwave. He opened the cabinet and a long tail flopped out to his disbelief. There was a rat tucking into the suet that we thought would be safe from the gnawing little teeth. They made eye contact and then the rat scurried up through a hole in the cabinet into our attic. We knew we had to take steps to prevent this from happening again. Enter the next day delivery of the Rat Zapper. We set it up that very night along with a webcam so we could monitor the patterns and behaviors of the rat thinking this would take a few nights to lure it into the trap. We used peanut suet, the snack of choice for the little fella. To our pleasant surprise it only took about an hour for the rat to come to the zapper. But wait there’s more! It wasn’t just one rat… there were two. Yes that’s right. Two rats came out to eat together. Was it a rat dinner date? We watched on the web cam as they both circled around the Zapper until one mustered up the courage to enter the new “dining establishment “. It walked in confidently and was greeted with an immediate electrifying welcome. We quickly took the rat out of the Zapper and reset it and the companion was also bold enough to think it would be able to dine unaffected. That was not to be. Thinking we had achieved success in ridding our home of these extra visitors and feeling very pleased with ourselves….. we quickly learned the next night that there were more rats. Yes we had not one, not two, but ultimately four rats that had been systematically eating our bird seed and suet. The clever creatures had arranged their dining times to deceive us into thinking we had one rat and yet we knew the noises we had heard in the garage for the weeks leading up to this situation clearly suggested more than one. They had succeeded in their plot to make us feel crazy and confused. Over the next two nights we were able to successfully eradicate the final two rats. For a total of four rats. This most certainly would not have been possible without the Rat Zapper. We dubbed this mission Ratatouille: The Final Course. No shotguns were involved and the rats never felt a thing I’m sure of it.

12/2/2024- Updating my review again. I tried another set of batteries. Even though the old ones test "good" with a basic battery tester, they apparently didn't have enough juice to charge up the capacitor on this zapper. I put another set in (they were not in the packaging so not sure how new they were) and when I turned it on, the green light did come on bright for a second or so telling me that the trap was ready. I did indeed catch another rat last night. 11/28/2024- So far I have caught two rats and one squirrel. However the green light no longer comes on when I turn it on. I am using good batteries. Not sure if it's a glitch and it's ready or not. I am going to turn off for a while and see if something resets. I have knocked off a star for this. 8/10/2024 - I got this this because I was seeing a lot of rodent droppings in my shed. My son said he saw a mouse, but I suspected it was a rat. I bought the Rat Zapper because it was bigger than the mouse zappers and I didn't want to take a chance. At first, I just decided to put in some bird seed (mostly sunflower seeds) and slide them to the back, thinking it would be easier than messy peanut butter. I set it on the floor of my shed and checked it for three days, but saw no activity. Then I decided to try peanut butter. I took a wooden kabob skewer that I had and glued a 1 inch square piece of plastic on the end, then I put a dab of peanut butter on the square. That way I could set it in the very back without disturbing too much. After a day or so wit the peanut butter, still not activity. Then I noticed the torn open bag of grass seed I had in my shed. The rats must have been eating the seed and that's why they didn't touch the peanut butter. I swept up a bunch of the grass seed, but it will be a big project getting it all up. I will have to move lumber, shelves, tools, etc. I picked the Rat Zapper off the floor and set it up on a shelf to try a new location. I wasn't expecting anything since they had plenty of grass seed to munch on. However tonight I just checked it and there was a big dead rat in it. I will set it back up shortly and I am confident I will catch more.

All I can say is this MF works. Finally unlive every time does not miss.
