amazing product
Amazing superb product. Fun and easy to use. I'm 14 not very skilled at tennis and even I find this easy to use.The only problem is the first tennis ball has broken and I'm affraid the next one will too soon. I hope they sell replacements online.

A good training tool for advanced tennis players
If you are a beginner with tennis, I would not recommend this product. You will get frustrated with the ball not coming back to you. If you know how to top-spin a tennis ball with your racket, you should expect the ball to come at lightning speed! I gave this item three stars because of its short longevity. The ball has come off the string a few times and will only be a matter of time until the ball goes flat or becomes unplayable.

Avoid. Ball split within 90 minutes.
Poor quality balls used. My 15 year old daughter split the first ball within 90 minutes of use.The one thing you need with this is a good quality ball. The ball also.only really bounces on concrete. On grass it hardly bounces at all.Item returned.A shame as it was fun while it briefly lasted.

Understand what you're buying I love this product
Understand what you're buyingI love this product. But you have to realise that it is not really a tennis trainer as such in the same way that 'Boxecise' is not boxing. You need to play really terrible tennis to keep it going. But as a aerobic workout it is truly brilliant. If you can keep it going, it will get you aerobically fit and probably help lose weight. One of the toughest aerobic workouts I know. Murder, in fact. Very happy with it but it won't do anything for my tennis skills.

Not as useful as hoped; find a wall and sponge balls
Despite the fact that many reviewers had already warned that this product really not about tennis per se, I decided to try this out. I really wanted to find a way to practice tennis on my own. I looked for a nice wall for a few months in the city, but none of the walls seemed legitimate. If I start hitting a ball against a good looking wall, soon someone will stop me.Also, I had a similar product about two decades ago, and my recollection was that it helped to develop topspin in forehand and backhand. Now, this is probably the most expensive of its kind. If this does not work, it is likely that all others may not work. After tried this a few times, I soon realized that all the warnings from other reviewers were actually right. This doesn't really give you a proper tennis experience. This product does not replace a practice wall. Why? Because the way the ball moves is quite different from real tennis. With the elastic band, the ball bounces back much quicker than club level rallies. In fact, it's very quick that I cannot really prepare for the next swing. Doing a good unit turn, forming a power position, then drop a racket to create a racket lag, ... all these important preparations had to be done in a rush. In fact, this can ruin your groundstroke skills, because you might get messy. Also, I found that it was quite difficult to keep the "rally" going on. I can barely hit twice or thrice, and usually, that's it. If you're better, perhaps you can do more. But because of the rush, I doubt it.Having said that I found a few YouTube videos in which people are using this product in a decent looking way. Actually, those videos were one of the key factors for my purchase. So if you're good, you might find a better use of this product. Then why didn't I rate this as just one star?Later, I realized that, just ignoring the elastic band, I can use this as a tethered ball. The ball is tethered, so if you hit it, it doesn't go away. You can easily retrieve it by pulling the rubber, right? Though this sounds silly, it is actually useful when I want to practice in my rather small garden. If I use a real ball, soon it will be gone or lost. But with this, you can practice one stroke or one serve each time to check the ball contact and the form.I also noticed that to have the ball come back at you, you really have to hit the ball right at its core quite hard. If your contact is shallow or weak, it won't come back. So it is possible that this can be useful to assess your shot was good/strong or bad/weak by seeing if the ball is coming back nicely. For example, my backhand tends to be weak and there is much less chance that I see the ball coming back from my backhand shot. But because it comes really quickly, you may want to refrain from hitting it again in order to maintain your form. You hand feed the ball and start again. Just one shot for one ball feed. This might be of some use.---ADDED on 31/03/2019After a few months, my conclusion is "NO, don't buy this one if you're interested in tennis."Find a wall you can hit a ball onto. This product won't replace a wall.Another thing I can recommend is sponge balls. The balls really soft and light, but about the same size as tennis balls. They can be used for practice indoor at home without breaking things, particularly about contact on serve.

If only there were more stars - this is great. Much better than the old fashioned pin in the ground and the spare ball is a great idea.

Happy 9 year old
This was bought for my son as a gift - suggested by me as I had had a similar one as a child. The trainer is robust and works well, my son has mastered it without the frustration and tangles I remember from my experiences, and despite all the rain we've had it has already been well used. Might try and sneek a go with it myself soon!!
