I bought this to take with me to the Philippines. I have been doing a lot of house repairs and solar installations for low income families. This silicone tape is great for sealing out the elements in harsh humid environments. Sticks great and seems like it will last. A must have for doing projects.

I'm primarily planning on not using this silicone tape unless something goes wrong with a water pipe that needs an immediate temporary repair. However... if I need it I'll be really glad to have it in my bag of tricks, thank you. I may also give it a whirl at wrapping around underground rated waterproof wire nuts as another layer of protection against corrosion of the wires of my landscaping low voltage lighting system. In my electrical use example it is only a backup, and this type of installation in my area does not require a permit so it is easy for me to use this tape and not have an inspection problem.However, UL 510 compliance is claimed in the product listing. As far as my past-professional experience goes, all rated products (and many others as well) need to be "Listed and Labeled" according to the adopted building and electrical codes of virtually every jurisdiction having authority. That is the only way that an Inspector will know that this is the correct material for its intended application. I would recommend that anyone considering the use of this tape on a permit-required activity must check with their Electrical Inspector BEFORE using the product instead of after. It was perfect for the applications it's meant for

The tape is sticky and very black

Unlike Electrical tape this left no hemoraging of adhesive

The tape does the job. However you need make sure you are not overstretching it too much when overlapping. The 2 thirds overlapping is recommended but also the tape is too flimsy and the overstretching results in breaking after a day or two. Very light duty tape. I would go for something stronger for heavy daily use.

Used it to revitalize an umbrella grip that had a dessicated rubber handle. This taper wrapped it perfectly making the umbrella useable again.
