Fourth purchase and still happy!
Matched these to a 10W solar panel to keep 18650 protected lithium ion cells charged for IoT projects. Could probably drop to 8w solar panel or maybe even a 5w in some cases but these do a fine job with what I'm using. I haven't tried them with a Raspberry Pi but for LoRaWan with GPS and Bluetooth running it's more than enough power.

Satisfied will buy again in the future!
UPDATEPurchased May 2025 5vdc output quit June 29 2025, After troubleshooting and speaking with manufacturer, They sent a replacement and I have had no issue since. This device works as described and I will purchase again in the future. I am using this with 25watt solar panel to charge 1s4p 20amp battery pack for meshtastic solar node which is both high and remote. Excellent customer service.

Works great
It works great when paired with the waveshare solar panel. I use it to power esp32 running a tipping bucket rain gauge sensor over wifi and mqtt. Keeps the batteries charged for weeks at a time depending upon weather.

Pissed.
I’m pissed. This is the second board I’ve ordered, issues with the quality of the first. Thought I’d give this company another chance and bought a second board to replace the first. Doesn’t work. Spent an hour debugging, double checking my wiring. Tried 2 different solar panels to rule out a problem with the panel. Checked voltage in to the board and fully charged the 18650’s. No matter what I do the red LED lights read 50% and “Done”. 20v in and fully charged batteries and it reads 50%. Almost dead batteries and no voltage in and it still reads 50% and “Done”. Won’t charge the batteries. Waste of time and money. Buyer beware.

Issue resolved...now working, but there's a caveat
I initially reported an issue with the board where the Batteries discharged overnight, rendering the board useless. After extensive testing I found the issue. Once the batteries are fully charged to 4.2V, they no longer discharge overnight. However, if not fully charged (e.g. 3.6V), they discharge to 3.2V overnight without a load.I had to place the batteries in a wall charger, charge them to 4.2V, and then put them in the solar charger to resolve my issue. I am still concerned what will happen if I place a load on the batteries overnight...

Worked well for a solar Lora Node.
Over 100 days uptime and no issues. Good battery management and steady 5v output. Like the included stand offs, made mounting easy.

Simple with the appropriate panel and battery
This board is simple to setup with a solar panel and battery sized to meet the power requirements of the project. I am currently running a solar powered weather station with it.

Versatile and easy to use
This little solar charger board is great to use for various projects. I'm always tinkering with things and I have a lot of different projects going on at the same time. The versatility of this board makes it easy to swap between different configurations without having to do a lot of different wiring or buying different boards for each project. I'm just getting into adding solar to things to see what I can do and this board has really been helpful in experimenting.
