Seems to work don't know how to tell the difference between fire and CO2
Tested it the alarm went off it's plenty loud and seems to function but not sure how you know which alarm is which fire versus CO2 obviously both are important but you know do you just need to wake up and get out of the house or do you need to go put out a little fire before it becomes major wish that there was color or sound difference or a voice that said fire or CO2I bought these for the price point I hope I don't regret it and they keep my family safe so far I'm happy.

purchased for my 3d print room.
running multiple 3d printers in a room, where plastic is being melted at 220c degrees, just screams the need for a smoke alarm. these work great, and are loud.

ANKA AJ-938 smoke & mono detector - no luck here
Never had this brand before - No mention of needing to twist to "ON" even thought front of unit shows arrows to ON and OFF but I could not twist it. There is also a white button in the back that is not labeled or mentioned in the accompanying one large sheet manual. Unit tests ok per instruction but there is no green LED flash every minute as per pg. 2 —- Add, date of mfg. on the back - see picture - is 2020 and I'm really not sure if that means unit is now good for 5 instead of 10 years going - no info online, just quick 30 second videos of how nice the unit looks. Only when I initiated the return a whole page of “have you tried reseating the battery” stuff —- Very frustrating. I admit I never had such trouble with a detector before. Returning and going for something more traditional.

I know they work.
I put one of these up in the kitchen using the hardware provided. This entailed drilling holes in the wall to put the plastic anchors in so you can screw the detector to the wall. I plan to use some good double-sided tape that is about one eighth of an inch thick to put one in the bedroom and one in the living room. These come with the battery permanently installed and are turned on when a button on the back is depressed by the mount when the detector is properly locked on. You can tell there is power by a blinking green light on the front of the detector. The detector can be tested by pushing a big button in the front center of the detector, or as I chose to do, by burning some popcorn. It took a couple of times of pressing the button with a broom handle to get the detector to shut off. It is definitely loud enough that it should wake you up several rooms away. I can't say how long the battery will last but it is supposed to be a ten-year battery. There is a place you must push in before throwing the detector away. Doing this will disconnect the battery so don't play with it as you will render the unit useless. I know they work, and I have one less chore come time changes each year. I wrote on the back the date I installed it and the date it should be replaced as I won't remember this ten years from now.

Does It Work?
There is no light or anything that let's us know that this is actually working. You can push the test button and it beeps but that doesn't really let you know it is going to work if there is smoke or carbonmonoxide. The 10 year battery is what made me buy this since my last one used to go through batteries. This one does not talk like my old one which let you know if it was low on battery or a test worked.

Simple Install -Mounting the Install Plate and a 1/2 Turn to Screw on the Alarm Unit
Three pack of smoke/carbon monoxide detection alarms. Comes in two parts - mounting plate and the alarm unit - screws and anchor plugs are included. Typical 5 inch x 2 inch size design. 10 year battery is built into the alarm. No need for other batteries and you will not need to ever change batteries. That means you don't have to track down the alarm unit in the middle of the night when you hear a constant beeping noise indicating an end-of-life cycle because your 9volt battery expired.. To hang the alarm, simply mount the mounting plate on a wall or ceiling with a screw, then turn/screw the alarm unit 1/2 turn onto the mounting plate to lock it in place. When it is installed you will immediately hear a confirmation beep and a green light letting you know you have successfully activated the unit. The alarm has a test and silence capability that is accessed by using the center button on the alarm unit. The button is easy to reach in the middle of the unit and will either test or silence the smoke alarm unit. . This unit was designed do provide intelligently detection of smoke to avoid false alarms. Also nice that it included a CO2 alert. We have a built in fireplace and occasionally use portable heaters-- both of which product CO2 and can cause issues if they are malfunctioning. The unit has a very loud 85db alarm sound that is sure to wake you up when it goes off. Also want to mention how nice the face of the unit looks. Functional and nice looking alarms units.
