RedCore 15202 R4 Infrared Space Heater Air Purifier

Have owned this unit for two years, works great! I am buying a second one.

I bought the R4 at a local grocery discounter in Nov 2010. I paid a little over $200 with sales tax and that was way too much for this #%&%@$. They claim it can heat "UP TO" 1000sf. The key words here being "up to". I live in a less than 400 sf Apt and the unit struggles to maintain a temp of 70 degrees. The humidifier is a joke. The steady stream of steam, moist air,what ever you call it, emits 1 inch from the front of the unit and falls directly to the floor literally making that area wet. The Real joke is the air purifier. The micro filter is supposed to be cleaned at least every 30 days. If cleaned with water it must be air dry thoroughly which takes upwards of 24 hrs and your not suppose to run the unit without the filter in place. ( This probably wouldn't be so bad if they provided a second filter.) The store I purchased this at offers a 90 day no questions asked return with receipt, 4 months after I bought it the fan began to squeak and squeal and has ever since. As for air purifying, one would be better off buying a 20" box fan ($16-30) and slapping a 20" x 20" x 1" furnace filter ($1-$16)behind it. (A $2 filter is as good if not better than the R4). I bought an R2 unit from a local farm fleet. After three months the fan failed. They sent me a replacement and after two weeks that fan failed. They then sent me an R4 unit. After two days of running the fan started to squeak, now it will not run at all. STAY AWAY from this product. It is junk. I've had nothing but grief from all three units I have had.
