Nice Laptop... If you do what you need to do to ensure you have a good machine.
I bought this laptop for my daughter. I thoroughly checked it out, removed what isn't needed, and downloaded all the necessary updates to get this machine running properly.I know... You shouldn't have to do anything, but I'm the type of person who likes to tweak settings, dip into the bios, edit the registry, etc... I've gone through all this many times before, knowing that often times, these machines are shipped with outdated drivers. With that said, I've seen a couple people posting about the graphics card and chipset "not being found", and there are a few simple fixes.1- Windows Update is your friend, at least for now, to get you running right. UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS!2- Update the drivers for your NVidia Graphics card.3- Update your AMD drivers.4- Update your soundcard drivers.Do that, and your poor display, your lack of fluidity running apps or games, and your sound issues should go away. How you tweak it for your daily use after that is on you. From my experience with it so far, I've found this laptop to be a pretty decent machine. It has good speed, no problems connecting to WIFI, and it runs games like Witcher 3, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Horizon Zero Dawn flawlessly. Tweaking the display settings in the AMD app (which again, you'll need to download to update the drivers) can produce a clean, bright, and vivid display. There isn't much else I can say. If you're reading this, thinking about making a purchase, I can tell you, it runs well. You just need to do your part in getting the drivers updated.

Great for many things
Battery life is alright. I bought this to work from home and play a few games. Works well.

Slow computer, weak battery.
I was expecting a much better machine for the money and for the specs of it.16gb of ram, SSD, a decent graphics card (not for heavy gaming) and it is still slower than I expected it to be.That being said, I bought this laptop for work. I need to have multiple windows open and multitask. It seems like even with just a couple tabs open, the laptop struggles here and there. The mouse pad is having some issues, it is either over sensitive or something is not right. When connected a regular mouse it worked a bit better.I powered it on and it charged to full very quickly, then I unplugged it and started downloading the required updates for Windows. The battery died in front of my eyes. If it is unplugged, it wont last you even 2-3 hours. I didnt work on it, I just had it with the screen on in front of me while I was using my desktop, and the battery was just going away by the minute. In 20 mins it went from 30% to 18% and switched itself to power saving mode. Mind you, I was NOT even using it during the 20 minutes, and no updates were taking place. Just the colorful keyboard.Speaking of the keyboard, it is very colorful and nice, it changes colors every second and doesnt stay at one color. All I was able to do is turn it on/off or change the brightness of the keyboard. You cannot select which color you want it to stay at, so the advertisement on this is false, it makes it look like all these colors are available, when in reality you cant just pick one and stick to it. Its all or none.I have not used it for gaming, as I mentioned, I have purchased it for work, however I did install an old game I had laying around just to see if it would be capable running it, and it couldn't. Got an error saying "this computer has no graphic accelerator". I am sure it is a matter of updating some drivers, or installing extra software, but I would think that a computer advertised as a "gaming machine" would be equipped with all that is necessary to run a game.Another issue right from the start, it is having problems connecting to certain networks. Picture included. My home network that my phone or other devices have no problem connecting to, the laptop gives me a message saying, cant connect to this network. Same thing happened when I took it to work to test the wifi, gave me the same message. Maybe I do not know how to use it, but I would expect a computer to be ready to go for anyone, from beginner to an expert. I shouldn't have to dig deep into setting to be able to connect to wifi. Especially that during set up you dont even get an option like this. I am kind of concerned about this WiFi issue. If it persists, this laptop becomes absolutely useless to me.Pros:looks nice.Cons:everything listed above.PS. I will be updating this review as the time goes by if there are any changes.

Ever since i got it it started causing problems with my wifi across the whole house.
First it took a while to get wifi working on it for some reason. I log in to my wifi and it connected, but it wasnt getting any actual service while my other devices (phone, other computer, game systems) all would connect fine. I eventually got it to connect to the laptop just fine, but every couple hours it randomly disconnects. Now its causing ALL my devices in the whole house to disconnect whenever it disconnects. Honestly if not for this i would recommend it, but just save your money and go get a different one

Meets our requirements
We were looking for a not-too-expensive laptop that my 10-yr old son could use for school as well as Blender, programming, and gaming (Minecraft, Roblox), and this turned out to be great value.

Amazingly Underwhelming (Do NOT Buy for Gaming)
The specs on this laptop look great, but don’t be deceived. It is incredibly slow and can’t run most triple ‘A’ game titles. I did everything I could to speed it up with custom page files, game settings and even graphic card settings. I deleted games to increase cache sizes (it has a small SSD) and no matter what tricks I tried this laptop simply could not get it done.I cannot recommend this system for gaming. Don’t be fooled by the specs. It is a dog and a slow one at that.

Seems Really Good
We've only had the laptop for a couple months, but so far it's been a fast, high quality laptop that would be expected from ASUS.
