Seems in tune.
I've had a modicum of music training and it sounds good to me... even tho I usually prefer a lower pitch. Only six notes so not for playing tunes (that I know of); just "meditative" tinkering around. Excellent value for the price.

Very soothing sound
I am new to the tongue drum, but I am in love with it. The sounds that come from it are indeed very relaxing. I have been studying the effects of sound, specifically in the "magic" frequencies of 432, 444, 528 hz and how it affects physical and mental well-being. I'm not sure what frequency this tongue drum is but I'm willing to bet it's one of those frequencies. I can prove from my fitness tracker, that since I began playing the tongue drum my resting heart rate is lower and healthier and my stress level is down. Even tho I am a beginner/novice and don't know how to play any known songs, this instrument makes such a pleasing sound that anybody can make good sounding, original music with it. It's small size makes it great for carrying with you. This one, unfortunately, doesn't come with a carrying case but it's easy enough to fit in a gym bag for yoga, a purse for any outings, a picnic basket... Etc. it's extremely portable due to the small size. It's well constructed and seems very durable. It was in tune when I got it, and didn't need any adjustments. The bottom is open on this drum. My larger drum has a removable plug, this one does not. This drum is very, very basic as far as the number of notes that can be played and what comes with it. No carrying bag, no plug on the bottom, only 1 mallet instead of 2, and the song book has maybe half a dozen songs. You really don't need the extras with this drum because of its small size. For the money, this is a fantastic buy. It's a wonderful beginner instrument that's very compact and not annoying to listen to a newbie play. Best of all is the sound quality. I cannot express strongly enough how soothing the sounds are that come from this drum.I rate it 5 stars for quality, value, portability and ease of use. I definitely recommend this product

Sounds lovely
The media could not be loaded. Pros:-perfect for my 2 year old-sounds so lovely-easy to playCons:-missing number 4 stickerI don’t want to go and return it since my toddler is already having so much fun with it but it is a bit annoying that the 4 is missing because with the song book to be able to be followed by a child I need all the stickers to be accurate.Pretty good for the price though.

Cute. But no value
I so wanted this little tongue drum to work. It’s so cute and fits in palm of my hand. But the SOUND??? Not all good. Tinny and unpleasant. So disappointing. Need to return.

Fun little item
It is tiny but decent quality, and fairly in-tune and nice sounding.I got this for a child who enjoys playing with a much larger tongue drum, and they were thrilled to have a baby version.Like every other instrument of this type, it's durable as hell.

It’s larger than expected and no. 4, well…
I’m not sure which is 1 and which is 4 because they basically look the same, but one makes a lovely sound and the other doesn’t. Frankly the surface it’s sitting on changes the acoustics dramatically. However, so far I haven’t found any way to hold it or any place to sit it such that 4-6 sound anything like what you can get 1-3 to sound like and it’s kind of frustrating. It is very pretty to look at and the tiny rubber mallet is nice to use for playing it (although I might make some different mallets with small wood spoons and some cotton/yarn for a different mallet type, I think this is one of those cool display but unlikely to play buys for me. And I really hoped I could actually play it during certain breathing and meditation exercises. Unless I magically discover why the 4-6 notes sound so different from 1-3, I doubt I’ll get used to the lack of sound consistency and this will be a display tchotchke for me.

Oh my gosh! Cute and musical! Don’t hesitate to buy
This tongue drum is both cute and functional. So many “toy” instruments are not in tune or even playable, but this baby is SUPERB! It is still basically a toy, but the notes (at least on this one) are an accurate C scale and usable in many melodies. You get the C and the octave C with the major chord. The music “book” (included) gets you started although only one melody is familiar to Western ears (see if you can find it, lol 👹) When playing try the ‘wrong’ end of the included mallet and you’ll find a brighter and cleaner sound. Try the knob end of knitting needles and all kinds of other home made mallets. This little guy can be a transformative musical beast, I’d love to see how Jacob Collier would include it in his transcendent music.
