Works Perfectly, 4G Internet Users - Read Here!!!
Firstly, really easy next day delivery from Amazon as per the usual standard. The TP Link Deco devices were purchased not only to help boost the wifi signal around the house for a couple of deadspots, but to provide a better wireless signal generally. In January 2019 we decided to get rid of conventional broadband and fibre solutions and move to 4G home broadband. We purchased a TP-Link MR6400 4G Router and a 12 month sim only Unlimited data from Three. Initially we were super impressed with the speeds and the reliability of Mobile Internet as a home solution. We were excluded from any phone line issues that people in our street still tackled with standard broadband providers, or issues with the lines direct to older houses. We live in a good area for broadband generally with a steady 30mbs download, however the further away you are from the FTTB (Fibre to the box) the worse your internet was, we were these people im afraid and usually got a consistent 15-20mbs. However we noticed after a few months, speeds were slow, ping response from the 4G box was rubbish. Initially doing some reboots of the box resolved some issues, but not all. We have recently just moved to EE unlimited sim only data plan hoping we would see a dramatic difference, to no avail. Albeit inconsistent due to the 4g Router issues, the speed is faster with EE at up to 90mbps. So i came to the conclusion that the 4G Router must have an internal issue that effects the wifi signal it sends out, effecting the speed. I purchased these and as previously mentioned above, they arrived in great time. The box is well packaged and the product itself seems a good standard. Plug and play standards meaning i simply unboxed, power lead and ethernet into the back of my 4G router and hey presto. Download the iOS or Android app and go through the simple step by step instructions. Renamed the Deco to the name of my already implemented wifi (Dans Fibre), and all my devices previously linked to the router that was called (Dans Fibre) just linked to the Deco. (This also saves alot of time not going through all those devices you have and pairing to a new wifi name with a new password) 10 minutes and my first deco was out the box and receiving 4G EE mobile data and sending it out to the house. Signal and ping speeds were massively better, however i needed to route into the 4G Router 192.168.1.1 and turn off the wireless which then allowed the Deco to be the only wireless signal we could see. Which proved my theory right about the box having an internal issue. Ping speeds were back down to a healthy response instead of the randomly fluctuating 200ms 178ms etc. Im happy with low 30ms ping speed. Continuing with my setup i placed another one upstairs and paired via the app, bang fast reliable internet upstairs. These really are simple to use, and albeit i know my way round most computer technology, im definitely not a network guy, but seriously these were an absolute breeze, and have temporarily fixed my internal wifi issues. I will still need a replacement 4G router, but that will only make things better. For what these are designed to do, they do a fantastic job. It boosts the signal around the house really well, and the intelligent switching between Deco units to provide the best signal is great. Ive only scratched the surface with some basic use, but i like some of the built in features within the app that let you prioritise device bandwith and speed, and parental controls, guest networks etc. Its great to see who is using what also including who is using all the bandwith downloading netflix 24/7. If you have home broadband or a 4G solution, this will work just fine. My situation may be different to yours for use, it may be the same. But i couldnt find any reviews that related to using in a 4G Environment. I hope this review helps other would be 4G Solution people. Roll On 5G!!!

10/10
This mesh WiFi system is excellent. Setup was very easy and only took a few minutes. Everything worked straight away with no hassle. Once it’s set up, you don’t need to manage it at all. It pretty much runs itself, which is great if you don’t want to mess around with settings. WiFi is strong and stable all around the house. Overall, a brilliant system that does exactly what it should. Reliable, simple, and stress-free. Highly recommended.

Decos are good but choose your device properly
This is a review of the TP Link Deco E4. I purchased the three pack in August 2020. General Advice is to set it up with your provided router being changed to a modem setting (which means it no longer works as a WiFi router). This hasn’t yet worked for me and so to get it up and running I left it as a router and connected the Deco as a second home network by simply plugging one Deco device by a Cat 7 Ethernet cable to the bottom port of my virgin Hub 3 router. That part works fine and was easy to set up through the Deco app. No speed compromise. There are however two networks at home - one through the hub 3 (which still operates as a WiFi router rather than a modem) and one through the deco network. Some people advise against that but it works fine for me - no speed loss. The issue I wanted to highlight is the E4 itself. It isn’t clear in the description that the E4s only have 100 mbps Ethernet ports. What this means is that the internet speed through the E4 is limited, I maxed out at 60mbps which wasn't enough as I have 200+ Speed supplied by Virgin. I exchanged the E4 for the S4 and now get 150-200+ mbps throughout the house. Beware, therefore, that for 60mbps or more you are better advised to not get the Deco E4 but one of the ‘faster’ models such as the S4.

Compare mesh v ap, mesh worked best for me
I have 1gb fibre broadband, but unfortunately they placed my router at the front of the house (modem and router separate) I recently purchased a ubiquiti u7 access point and placed it in the center of a 3 floor home Originally worked great but noticed there was a lot of dead zones for wifi I then looked into replacing it with this product and so far it is great, quick and easy setup, however it wouldn't work directly off the modem so it does need to be connected to the router WiFi is never guaranteed speeds but I'm safe to say that I'm getting great download and upload speeds, and because it comes with 3 units, all 3 floors are fully covered This product has fixed all the dead zone issues I've had before and great value

Properly improved the Wi-Fi, no fuss
Pretty much plug and play, and it’s made a genuinely noticeable difference to the Wi-Fi around the house. I used to have the usual dead spots and patchy speeds, but now it’s consistently good wherever I am, and the speed seems strong throughout. The app is decent and makes setup and day-to-day tweaks easy enough. I really like being able to set up separate guest and IoT networks, it just feels a bit safer keeping things split out. Only minor grumbles really: I couldn’t get the VPN option to work, and it lives in the “labs” section so it feels a bit experimental. Also, it would have been nice if the web configuration page was a bit more fully featured, but in fairness the app covers most of what you actually need, so that is just personal preference. Overall, much better value than paying £10 a month to BT/Sky for something you never even end up owning. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent
Excellent system and a great upgrade on what I had previously. Easy to install, you just need your provider’s username and password, the app guides you through the rest. Very good coverage and speed, the app is helpful for monitoring too.

Good product
I live is a house where the WiFi doesn't travel well so connected these up the stairs and in the corridor and now all of us in the house get a good signal and solved the issue. Really works well and worthwhile.

I have not had any issues with this mesh since initial set up. The set up is easy to follow and straight forward. I did have a minor issue, but that was on my end and my service provider was able to give me the correct information needed to set up. It has been running now for about 4 months and we have had steady connection across all devices - computers, TVs, gaming systems, smart home and surveillance systems. The back room that was often a dead zone now gets a good strong signal. I like that I am able to hard wire certain devices into each unit if I want to. We currently have the main home computer connected to the second unit, and the Xbox and smart TV on the third unit. Not that any of these devices were experiencing any lag or connection issues on wifi. It also has the option to set specific devices to priority on wifi or to set a device to only connect to one unit rather than the mesh to maintain a steady connection on items that are stationary. The parental controls are also a great feature. You do need to pay to unlock everything, but the free features are enough for my needs. It allows to filter content, block websites, and set up screen limits. The only inconvenience on the free side is that you cant set multiple time limits for differentdays of the week. While I can set a bed time daily, if I want to give extra time on the weekend I do need to manually reset it every week. However, it is not a big deal with the app. Wifi to all devices you set to your child's profile will be turned off at the time you set, and not turn back on until a time you set. Bedtime routines have gotten smoother as they quickly learned there is no "just a minute". They now take note of the time and hurry to finish, save their progress and say goodbye to friends before the time runs out.

Im using it in addition to a huwawei modem that has internet connection from a 4G sim card. I connected router to this device with the included wire and spread the 3 connection points between two floors. Now I have very strong coverage in every room!
