Champion Power Equipment 2500-Watt Ultralight Portable Inverter Generator with Quiet Technology and CO Shield

I purchased this generator with the goal of using it to power the block heater on my diesel truck. I live in the midwest where temps can plummet down into the -30s or as bad as -50f. Unfortunately my job does not have a place for me to plug into while I work so starting the truck after a 10 hour shift would be a nightmare. The fuel tank holding 1 gallon might seem small but seeing that it can run up to 6 hours on a single gallon by my usage it's good enough.Portable size made it simple to load and unload, solid design and simple start up make it perfect. No messing with priming and all that mess. Typically a single pull was all that's needed to get it started.

I bought this unit as an emergency generator. It run about 30 minutes and shut down. I tried running again and it run 30 minutes and then wouldn’t start again. I called champion support and they claimed the inverter needed to be reset they sent a video to dismantle the unit and change the inverter which I had no part to replace with after many calls finally got through and they said to take to a warranty dealer that was weeks ago I called serviceman and he said he thought the low oil sensor was malfunctioning. Ther serviceman said he did what champion told him to do to no avail and said he thought repair cost would be more than unit was worth More calls to champion and never got through after waiting hours on phone. I put a review on champions website and their response was tell the serviceman to change the oil. Why I should be involved with warranty repair is ridiculous. You can’t get through to champion support without waiting hours while their system plays marketing messages over and over. They have no callback service and they don’t respond to emails. This unit is defective. I’m ready to deny credit card charge and let Amazon and champion fight this out. Maybe at one time champion had good service but they sure don’t now. Buyer beware. Deeply regret buying this!

UPDATE to review: since Champion contacted us back, they've given us a refund after we shipped it back to them. I think we just got a lemon, because we ended up buying another Champion that we like better than the first kind described here. Our contact was most pleasant and we've come out ahead in the long run. I recommend Champion, but not going through Amazon. Amazon was no help at all when the original didn't work.this product does not work. we received it on 10/1. husband got it started. it ran about 10 minutes, quit and will not start. we've contacted champion (after waiting for 45 minutes) and they gave us two places to get it repaired. neither place will work on said product because of issues with parts and can't get call backs from champion (this after a 40 mile round trip to take it to repair). one of the repairmen looked our machine up and said it had been sold before, returned, and placed back for sale. we understood it was new. i've tried to contact them by "contact seller" last week and get no response. we didn't see the "non-returnable" (my fault) til after we received it so getting no satisfaction from them or amazon.to be on the safe side, i would not order this if i had known how i'd be treated. Please "Buyer Beware"!
