Once hydrated, these work great in cooked dishes. I only tried one or two by themselves to test the hydration: the taste was adequate. They work best in liquid things that allow them to soak for awhile, like soups, squishy vegetable, or other dishes with lots of residual liquid you do not intend to drain. I would not try to eat them before hydrating at LEAST an hour, unless overly chewy and hard with random soft spots is the texture for which you're aiming. Plus the dried factor means you don't have to use them in two weeks before they mold.But it was pricey. I got these specifically because I wanted dried mushrooms during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown AND this brand had the lowest prices on Amazon for the amount given. But at 7-9 dollars for 8 ouces, you might be able to find a better deal in a brick and mortar store.

I just soak these for a half an hour with room temperature water, and then I’ve got mushrooms to add flavor to whatever I’m cooking. I rinse them first before using. I don’t find there is much dirt or grit. I would definitely buy this again.

great taste and so easy for crockpot cooking just toss in a handfull. (secret) run them through a food processor until dust then mix 1/4C+ into 1 lbs hamburger + a little salt and pepper, for best grilled mushroom burgers EVER! add instead of cornstarch for amazing gravies.

Very nice! A tasty addition to any dish - place in water for a short while, and it's ready. A moreeconomical option than store-bought dried mushroom.

These are great dry mushrooms. Add them to your favorite meals and you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely love this mushroom blend. I have not found this quality for a better price anywhere on the web / specialty stores. Super!

the mushrooms do not soften easily and if you leave them in the orginal size they are very chewy you have to cut them up into very small pieces before they are not chewy and then some remained chewy, dissatisfied

Very good mushrooms! Soak them in butter and they are excellent!
